The seat you posted looks nice but it appears to be smooth in the grooves without the false stitch.

I did find one that has the false stitch but no trim. I think I may go that route and buy some trim as well. - or maybe just bite the bullet and get one from Yamiya.

I’m looking too. Check out “junkboy66” on EBay, Their version is not cheap, but looks good to me. What do you think?

Looks like a nice seat, but no Honda logo. Same problem as the DSS seat.

That seat is also about the same as a Yamiya seat.

CMS has a nice seat but doesn’t show the back. I sent them an email asking it the back has a logo or not.

Whoa.  Subscribed.  I thought my K5 was a nice starting point. This one is even nicer. Well done. Not really much to do on this one. Should be in the wind in no time.

Received a K0 tank badge from BenelliSEI, thanks very much. It needed a bit of a touch up.
2 boxes of stuff from David Silvers arrived today. Rim, spokes, front fender, gas tank trim.

Kevin, I used a paint stripper to get the remains of the old paint off, rinsed it off thoroughly, carefully covered the edges with painters tape then spayed the whole thing with VHT Caliper paint in black satin paint. Once the paint dried I used about 320 grit sandpaper and a sanding block to sand the paint off the the edges of the letters, going across the letters.Then 600 grit to give the edges a bit of a shine. Any overspray on the edges because I didn't fit the tape properly I scraped off with a knife. Hope this helps and makes sense. I think I better take more photos as I do my work. Cliff.

P.S. I find my wife’s Nail Polish Remover often works well for small paint removal jobs like this.

I use a brake fluid bath to strip small items. It works great and probably cheaper than nail polish remover. I painted the tank badges on my 550 four times before I got it right. When I screwed up I just dropped them back in the brake fluid bath and started over the next day.I've also stripped the factory clear coat off the fork lowers on the Suzuki GS 1100E with brake fluid.

Bike's on the lift, removed the front wheel and took it apart,  took note of missing parts it needs, ordered new dust seal for the hub, I will install new bearings and polish the hub up a bit. New rim and spokes to be installed soon. Brake caliper should be silver.  Cliff.

Cliff..... you should have just ridden it! I can see where this is headed..... Once you build a new front wheel, the rear one will look a bit scruffy. Mmmmm.

You're right!
The repaint on the oil tank is terrible, the oil lines need attention, the clutch cover is painted. I can't stop now.
New front rim, spokes and fender arrived the other day. 2 hole rear fender and tail light and the chrome shop.

 I always marvel at the amount of money someone spent on these old bikes back in the day. I usually think man, somebody loved this bike. I didn't keep mine stock in the 70's but I was too cheap to spring for a custom paint job and a ton of chrome.

I had a Kerker on one of my bikes, fabbed up a mount to replace the mount that went to the shock.

I've seen one that attaches to the swing arm, imagine how that one worked?!

Little by little,removed the paint from the clutch cover and polished it a bit, the metal was a bit rough, cleaned up the oil lines, one is NOS but needed a touch up and clean and install new bearings and seal in the front hub.

I don't have awful lot of pet peeves with regard to motorcycles, but you guys have touched on one. Aftermarket exhaust brackets. The '90 semi project Vmax that I have has 2 Brothers slip-ons. These are some huge cans. Whoever installed them nicely fashioned a couple of very substantial aluminum bracket/hangers to support the massive mufflers. Hangers that suspend from the shock mount/grab rail area. I intensely dislike that and am of the opinion that if a muffler can't be hung with a bracket that is almost invisible, it shouldn't be on the bike. In this case I will let it slide because I will not be keeping this motorcycle.

Then there's my 750 K5.  Gorgeous, pristine Kerker came with it. But, yeah, you guessed it, that fugly steel bracket made to hang off the shock mount was expected to be used to hold this can up. I refuse. I trimmed it back, bent it into shape, and tied it into the rear footpeg mount. This can isn't going anywhere. And you can barely see the mount.  Started quite a spirited discussion about this on another forum.

(Yeah, I ditched the cupped rubber washer for a fender washer. Bad idea.)
