I swapped a Triumph Rocket III which was a great bike for the slightly dilapidated Ducati. It had been parked in Geelong, near the sea, and the salt air has corroded a few things. We decided that the starter motor is cactus fcuktas, so I ordered a new one, along with a new fuel pump (not needed, the old one works fine after we tested it out of the gas tank yesterday) and an alternator cover puller (not needed either, as Spotty and I made one that works fine)

The alternator cover is sitting in my ultrasonic cleaner, which, apart from cleaning the old oil and gasket sealant right out, it's slowly removing the paint, so I'll leave it in for a few days until all the paint has come off it, then etch prime and paint it, and it should look like new.
Meanwhile, I have the tank off my VTR1000F to remove the rust. I'm trying to be a fan of Evaporust, but my experience hasn't been great so far, so I'll leave it for another hot day (tomorrow) to flush out, then dry in the 100 degree heat.
