"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Nixon could have written something in the Open forum/ "pissing me off thread".

I have seen similar behsvior at my jobb, engineers and technicians.
They show how "good and competent" they are by complaining on what other has designed that actually works fine.

He could have done that but he didn't, and b#$%h'in and complaining about him and his post 'till the cows come home' doesn't make it any better. Let it go, move on... Every person here knows better than that...

Ha ha, thanks for your opinion mate, not actual fact, just your opinion. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Did you not start this post and carry the water for your pals narrative?
Now wishing to censor those with debates….

It would be interesting how you define “politics”.

pol·i·tics
/ˈpäləˌtiks/
noun
the activities associated with the governance of a country or other area, especially the debate or conflict among individuals or parties “having” or hoping to achieve or “maintain” power.

I submit that he was already irritated by the time you posted the manual excerpt. While much of his references are technically disputable (or in many cases wrong) he does make a valid point if you wade through the blaster and diatribe. Perhaps that should be the takeaway and not “who’s right or wrong”?

People often rely on information based upon history, but technology and discovery advance and sometimes, the answers change. Yet, some stick to their habit instead of learning to “evolve”. Not a specific reference to Mike or anyone within this thread, just an observation from a well-traveled man.

Don’t spend time fighting the fight you can/can’t win; fight the fight worth fighting.

I only posted what I did was in response to Terry's comment about what a tangled web of off topic or how far it has strayed or what was being talked about but not clearly spoke about...
I didn't mean to drag into this politics on purpose really it is not a liberals vs conservative which how Americans think of things easily. There is a movement in Germany and much if the world that people are trying to throw out all we know to tear down stuff that works and supports the world, farmers in various countries have staged huge demonstrations and Germany just had a huge demonstration to gain attention to the disagreement against these forces who are trying to overturn the hierarchy and order and sometimes it is a huge push to stop something thinking it is going to solve some problems that 8s being pushed by various people or various organizations and if that path is chosen it could lead to huge destruction and many deaths as the ultimate outcome many are that as something that should not be done. The demonstrations of people against or die something doesn't make it right or wrong. There certainly is an outpouring of people against a country's actions currently dominating newscycles. Personally I think it is insanity, but insanity exists in this world and sometimes it is on public display.

. I stated some facts, FaceBook publishing the bit about the Chinese "retweet" accounts is a fact, it leads everyone to the question of how much America has been played with or manipulated by "foreign bad actors" or foreign governments. They know Russia and China have been doing this. This is really something for thought by all Americans in my view regardless of party affiliation. I have friends whom are liberal and extremely liberal in their political views and I have some who are conservative or even ultraconservative. Yeah, it is interesting knowing them and sometimes we talk about things that can be a hot button for either side or both. It is discussed to understand their views avd we do it with respect for one another.
That inability theses days is concerning personally.

Not trying to make this political, my apologies to everyone.

I just tried to explain the connections.

Conspiracy theories are bizarre, Mel Gibson made a movie about  them...
It was kinda out there and he can play the crazy man very well, did it in that movie as well as in Lethal Weapon. Yeah Mel has had some alcoholism and became pretty unhinged and said something's he regrets and he has some issues. So, not asking for people to pick up in that.
Some conspiracy theories have been proven and those are real conspiracies when proven to be true.

Our own government state department published in our national record and told us about Wuhan Laboratories some crazy stuff.
Crazy but true.

So, the world is a crazy place, we all have differing views.
Mike Nikon has his and HondaMan has his...
Sometimes we can all be wrong as Calj eloquently put it.

Sometimes we all suffer from life beating us up and we don't perceive things correctly when life is beating us everytime we turn around, it wears on your mental processes as well as financially or emotional and we have all said things we regret from time to time. Sometimes you can ask the person or persons you offended, if you offended them to forgive you or your outburst and all is well and you move on.
Takes guts to admit you were wrong. Mike changed some stuff, that speaks to his character when he is given reason to consider things. That is an admirable trait.

Sorry for the "#$%*show" CChicken...take a Valium, you will be alright in the morning.

Thanks for not closing down the thread.

Understand it is about Mike Nixon and his comments on HondaMan and against the SOHC4 family of members and our dysfunctional family 's posts and views and our varied viewpoints on MC maintenance that insulted Mike and what he knows or holds to be true.

People with strong beliefs are hard to change those beliefs and convictions and often impossible to change those.
I won't ever change some of my beliefs and convictions, I hope to die for them if forced to choose to renounce them or die. I don't know that I would ever really face that choice, but others do today in different parts of the world.

MC maintenance or techniques and methods and products to use ain't on that list.

Do you know what the difference is between a well dressed man on a unicycle and a poorly dressed man on a bicycle is?

Attire

So, it is attire and a tire ...
Not often to see a joke with two jokes in one joke, that my friends is what I call a 2fer, just to be fun with it.
It is a funny joke, 90% of people I've told it too get it and find it very funny. Some groan when they realize the play on words to make it

Very interesting..... ;) [#22]
That guy has completely missed that the forums grows the interest for everything.

This forum helps people to restore, improve and support all companies selling parts.
It is very good for all motorcycle related companies.

The posts where we warn others for mistakes to be done or bad parts another good thing.

Those who does not read the forums can see the result on the  roads, where parked and get inspired to purchase a bike and/or upgrades for it.

Only a few that should be allowed to tell others?
Tech totalitarianism?

Oh I got it from the onset. But he is not alone is misstating, erring, or misunderstanding things. There are plenty of contributors here who err, and some never own up to it. You cannot learn if you don’t make a mistake. Learning from the mistake shows intelligence and maturity.

My profession was high fashion runway modeling for many years. I’m retired from that now as the pressure to always look my best, the global travel, and frankly the “catty, back-biting attitudes” became too much for me. How about you?
