I bet that cooling assembly is a snug fit.
Hopefully no need to modify the bucket ;D
I had to check!
Stopped the ongoing movie, told wife I have to check something in the garage 5 minutes. Not first time.
I do not like to think about fit or not when I can verify it direct.

I made the bulb taller, 13mm more inside bucket.
It fits.
Need to fix wires inside bucket with tape.

It looks like a refugee camp for wires and thicker connectors!! ;D

I closed it and fastened with the 3 M5 screws.

All functions are functional too.

That LED H4 fan has worked fine since 2015.
I had another one in my K2 where the fan started to scream after a season.

Be careful about what LEDs you buy. LEDs are output rated in Lumens as well as watts. If a site doesn't show lumens rating,  stay away. The higher the lumens rating the better light you will get.

1 Lux is 1 lumen/m2 (at a distance of 1 meter). So saying that lumens means little isnt true, normally lux is measured in the most light intensive area and lumens in a integrating sphere (360). But i can with good confidence say that the reflector most likely has very little loss and will help reflect all that stray light. All Comerical lights within the EU should have a lumen value declared on their packaging (and if its in a 360, 180, 120 or 90degree sphere). You are making a good point about companies not living up to their claims especially the aliexpress/cheapo stuff. It's easy to put on a few LED's and a few resistors on a chunk of metal and call it a lamp.

LED H4 is good for the total power consumption, especially when using a Dyna-S.
I have relays too, Hi, Lo and ign with thicker wires direct from battery.
My K6 has also for the dual horns and parking off together with Lo.

I switched to std H4 when visiting the vehicle inspection so to they should not complain on the light pattern that is not that sharp with the LED. Most important that meeting cars do not flash their lamps.

No more vehicle inspections for my bikes. 40 years old no need.

My ongoing CB750 build need one when completed. Last inspection was 1993.

It will be interesting how the  new LED H4 will work.

I made my remark on Lux and Lumen because the exact position of the H4 filaments will guarantee the emitted light will be where it is needed. With an aftermarket Led in an OEM reflector its anyone's guess. Bottom line for me is, that - inspite of efforts to upgrade - I want my bike to be streetlegal. Philips and Osram will offer only approved products.
The color temp is also a thing. There have been ralley riders that preferred yellow lights. Best lights I ever had were the then standard yellow quartz iodine bulbs in the trapezium shaped CibiƩ headlamps on my Peugeot 504GL.

I was worried about that when I replaced the lights in my Jeep and Colorado. The bulbs really made a difference and the pattern is spot on. There must be a lot of work put into the positioning of the chip(s) to make that happen.

The Sylvania LED bulbs from the auto part store are working just fine in the touring bike.

Finding a decent set of led headlight bulbs was a different story.  Most of the vendors will promise stadium quality lighting.  But the sad truth is their product will get outshined by a bic lighter.

I got the ordered yellow/white H4 LED yesterday.
Tested it direct after work.

A road test will be interesting.
Yellow Lo
White Hi
Auxilary LEDs too.
New  taller H4 vs old H4 LED.
New has LEDs on both sides, old only 1.

That's why I installed the first LED H4 with spec 30/40W. I think I measured 35W something.
More power for other things.

With the LED rear, less power needed when braking.

Per great photos on the headlight bulb comparison - what connectors are you using to install the bulb into the headlight bucket/wiring harness? Cant tell from your photos.

Hi Andy,
Std H4 connector.
My K6 had H4 from the very beginning. (Hi, Lo, Ground).

Like this one wired to handlebar switch and ground inside bucket.
Male connector on bulb.

Std H4 bulb has the connector connected at rear making it taller.
LED bulbs that are taller have its male connector via a cable so the total lenght the bucket has to accept does not differ that much.

Update after a ride.
The yellow/white H4 LED lamp did not last long. It entered a glowing mode within 30 minutes ! :(

I have another order of same lamp.
I'll see how next will work. I doubt they all are bad.
My earlier H4 LEDs have worked fine.  Also no brand from China.

One got a high squeeling sound after 3 years or so. Light still  OK.

I tested my old lamp direct after the ride to be sure about connections OK.
Old lamp work fine.

Next will arrive in a few days.
Amazon order of 2.

Update:
I got a quick reply from seller after I informed about the faulty part.
A new has been shipped, tracking number in reply.

i've got the pictured LED bulb in my tail light. throws light in all directions, i.e. the light also shines to the sides. brake light works great and as it's white, also the license plate is properly illuminated.
searching for the part number throws up a few hits on the interweb... i think i got it from superbrightleds?

You don't get a pink taillight from using white LED?
I learned long ago that you need red LED in a taillight.

doesn't look pink to me.
white light through a red lens will appear red. why would that change only because it's a LED source?
