That is so true Per, this time of year here in NH the light changes so fast, we've lost almost 3 hrs of daylight in 2 months.
Sunday, I rode over to my mom's 100th birthday celebration, I rode back(west bound) at a little past 5pm and had to put my hand up a lot of time in front of my eyes as the sun was getting low and right in my face. I'm going to have to order some more 1 1/2" black electrical tape to put on my face shield for my Arai to give me some shade for the early sunset rides.
So Sunday was #22, 124 miles, 70°F to start off at 10:30am(warm for this late in September as it got up to 84°F for the high), after the party the temps started cooling faster as the sun got lower near sunset as I arrived home about 20 minutes before it set, it dropped to 76°F at 6:15pm. I noticed that it was fairly dark by 7pm now... (The middle of June it isn't dark until 9:30 pm....)
I might get 1 more ride over to see my mom next weekend before my cross country trip(to Vegas and Florida and back to NH on the goldwing) to see the grands before winter sets in here. I'm thinking about doing the unthinkable, to get out there, mile burning on the slabs(yuck), at least to get to Colorado to hopefully catch a few good days to ride the mountain roads. I still have another week of work to do on these stairs I'm building unfortunately before I can get on the road.
My mom's youngest brother(90) made it to the party(the last of her siblings left) and most of my siblings and some of my cousins made it. We used to have over 125 in both sides of the family(mom's and dad's) at gatherings.
