Ride it by as soon as you're done....got the 750 running over the weekend as well !!

Just an option on registering it - I registered mine as an antique...got the plates, didn't even have to show insurance for it (just my auto policy)  good for 5 yrs and I only had to pay tax on what I paid instead of THEIR assigned value.  It was around $80 for tax, title & license.

Good idea.  I will be working on the title first of next month. 
By the middle of next month we should be able to meet up and ride over to The Abby Inn.  Thats the new pub on the square there in Denton.

Well guys,  I was hoping to come in here and tell you all how great it runs, instead I have to tell you that I think I threw a rod.   :'(   
I started the bike today to let it run for a few minutes.  After 60 seconds or so it started knocking and i let it die.  I can crank it by the kick starter, but it hits a "hard spot"  if it gets past that it will go smooth until that piston gets to the top again (I assume).
I pulled the carbs and the valve cover and all of the valves look and feel like I imagine they should (first SOHC).  I guess the next step is to remove the heads and see what carnage is under there.  I am praying it is something easy.  i don't want to have to rebuild a honda motor.   :(

Well i figured it out.  It turns out that the clutch wasn't torqued down.  The bolts came loose and starting hitting the arm.  I tightened it all down and put everything back together again.  Here is how she looks now.


I just got the seat back from the upholstery shop.  i bought the leather and the foam, but couldn't sew anything that thick.
I think i could have made the seat a little thinner.  I wanted it to be comfortable though.  It is comfy.

We haven't gotten as much done on the 500.  We did get the engine in the frame and put new stainell fasteners on it.  We also used the bronze from the wheels to do the tappet covers and the end caps.   This bike will be black and bronze.

Today was one of the best days ever!!!!

Just up the road and back, but it felt great.  The wheels have not yet been trued, so it doesn't ride well.  But I couldn't resist doing this since I got the chain and put it on.

I originally did the gauge housing in black, but I really like that bronze from the wheels, so i had to take them apart and redo it.


Starts on the first or second kick usually!  Still needs some tuning though.

I will give you a call later today.   Yeah the wheels are a little wobbly so I wasn't going very fast.  I just had to ride it though.  ;D

I still have some stuff to finish, but I see it being road worthy as soon as this weekend.

Well guys,  it has been a while since I have updated. 

Last month I won a trophy at a car and motorcycle show in Denton, TX.  Good times,  mostly choppers though. 
But more importantly we pretty much finished my buddy's bike.   
Those who have read through this know that i did not start these builds.  I bought these bikes from Greenjeans before he finished them.  I finished mine a while ago, but the other one i sold to my best friend and we have been working on his as well.  He is in law school and doesn't have a whole lot of time to work on it.  Well we did get it running and here they are, 2 peas in a pod.






I'm the fat guy on the left (the photos we took on this day have prompted me to try to lose a few pounds.)
