I'd never fall out with anyone over it. But, I see naked bikes like the CB750 (Enfields, Z900RS etc.) with significant money spent on fairings, saddlele bags, saddles, even sissy bars and bar risers etc. I can't help thinking that money could have gone on getting an old Harley. Then you have the best of both worlds. Naked classic sports bike one day and utility / cruiser the next. And you're likely to lose less of your investment when you come to sell. But fair enough, their bike and money.

The only time I wince a bit is when irreversible changes are made to a a good bike. But again, their bike, their vision. Also, one less to compete with mine when my family come to sell off the old junk in the garage!

Two totally different kind of bikes really "old harleys" and SOHC and DOHC fours that either came from factory with jammers. or people added jammers to them.

I'm biased because a jammer went onto my K2 in the middle 1970's, dad had bags on it too, but to me perm mounted hard bags suck LOL, now ones that can be removed and attached at will could be interesting. The Jammer alone gives one a LOT of space to keep stuff like rain gear as one example. The huge add on market IMHO is what drove OEM to include frame mounted fairings on factory bikes.

I have a K3 that is down to frame right now and I would love to find a frame mount 1/4 fairing for it :-).

The OP faring what struck me is that somebody could 3D print a really nice lower section that literally fit like a glove or a second skin, and use a fairly common modern small windshield.

I am for sure not a fan of bar/fork mounted fairings however.

Bill

Most of the Bōsōzoku gangs and subculture have disappeared from Japan but they are still active in Okinawa

Young spirited kids having fun or annoying and dangerous nuissance?

I have an older Made in Japan dark blue OKINAWA riding jacket with embroidered Sea Dragon.  I should get it out of my closet and take some photos

In this video I count 2 Asahi AF windshields

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/OfHq5cz9l4s
The gangs might be mostly gone but the subculture's automotive style is still very much alive. Even here in the Midwest US you see Japanese cars with subtle nods to it at shows. Stuff like subway handles on the bumpers, externally mounted oil coolers, long exhaust tips, etc.

That jacket sounds awesome. I've got a Yamiya windbreaker but it's been way too hot lately to wear it riding.

AF also makes lowers that are designed to be paired w some of their windshields. Nothing that'll fit the 750s currently though.

Thanks Mate.  Here is a photo of the interior lining of the Okinawa Sea Dragon jacket.  It's an extra large American size (I'm 6 ft 4 in) so it fits me well.  Jacket was most likely custom made in Japan in the 1970's for a US Navy sailor. I'll try to take some photos of the outside of the jacket tomorrow.

My Okinawa Wannabe Bōsōzoku ;) (not really) jacket  8)  All turn indicators/blinkers (front and rear) have been removed ;D

Early Asahi AF windshield with red trim and extra sewn in pocket.  Very collectible in Japan

Quick question: I have a handful of vintage lightweight riding jackets.   Which jacket looks better?  Dark Blue Okinawa Sea Dragon or Medium Blue w White Racing Stripe Honda??

That jacket awesome either way. My dad lived in Japan for work in the early thru mid '80s when I was a kid. He sent back all sorts of custom made stuff like that for my mom. I got a ton of early Gundam Transformer and Go-Bot type toys.

I know you're searching for the correct grab rail and short stem blinkers, and I've trimmed pattern stems on my own bike, but I've actually thought about removing them all together. As a cyclist I also use hand signals with the bike's signals out of habit anyway, and it kinda has a custom bobbed look to it too.

The pocket is cool. Never seen that. Would sure come in handy. My pockets are always full and I end up cramming things under the seat. Hate wearing a backpack. I think I already mentioned it but Yamiya has Korean war era US Army canvas backpack looking saddle bags that are pretty similar to the AF windshields.

I'd wear that Honda jacket all day long!! They're both awesome but I'd probably reserve the Sea Dragon jacket for vintage bike shows and stuff. I've noticed the wind tends to beat up and stretch out my t-shirts (without my AF windshield) so I don't wear any irreplaceable faves.

Thanks Mate.  The Honda Racing jacket is an XXL and was made by Nike in Thailand.  I am quessing from the 1990s and sold by Honda Thailand.  Riding in the midday heat with a lightweight jacket is very useful to keep the hot Thailand sun off your skin.  Jacket fits me perfectly.  It is very thin, unlined,  and stays very cool.

YES!! This overly animated Boso style reminds me of the American lowbrow style kustoms from Ed Roth in the '60s.

My "nonsense" comment for the day.  Not meant to troll but only to paint a possible future very different than today!

30 years from now kids born today will highly cherish Japan Bōsōzoku bikes from the 1970's and 1980's and they will command a huge premium.   Original highly customized Bōsōzoku bikes will be worth more money than stock vintage Honda CB750s :o Early Bōsōzoku bikes from Specter gang members with provenance will set world records for Japanese Bikes at auction surpassing the prices paid for early CB750 prototypes.

This listing for a vintage Honda patch was sent to me from a good friend who saw my jacket.  I just checked with the seller and unfortunately all the patches are sold and there no more available.

Red, White, and Blue with Gold.  Older HM logo and Wings  :)

Slightly off topic  - looking over HONDA tank emblems this morning

Top - Original off my K2 tank.  Paint stripped
Bottom - Original off a later K3 or K4 replacement tank
2nd Photo - NOS K1 I can buy from Japan?

My CB550 Gas Tank Honda emblem.  Notice the background is short and does not go around the HONDA letters. No textured surface to the letters or background. I believe this is the same emblem that was used on the early CB750 KO that was black with black background (with no texture).  I believe the CB550 should be white letters with black background.  The background on my CB550 emblems are unpainted silver and not black so I believe they were repainted by a previous owner?

Compared to the original badges, the available nos badges come as the same part number for both sides and the chrome/silver part has a slightly brassy or gold look. Have to be carefully bent to suit the side they are going on.

Thanks Mate.  It looks like I will be using the original CB750 K2 badges (top) on the replacement CB750 K3/4?  tank.  I carefully checked and the badge short attachment stems line up perfectly to the replacement tank holes. Kannika will be repainting the emblems like the original.   Black surround, white letters, and unpainted silver border.  "Look like new when finish" she assures me  :)

One of the rarest Honda Tank emblems on an early CB750 prototype

HONDA letters only with no surround or background.  The design of HONDA tank emblems clearly evolved over time to a more 3-D look with added textures, outlines, and enhanced backgrounds.
