in 1995 on my way back from BMW rally in Durango, CO I went 127mph indicated on a 1993 BMW K75S. I was trying to out run a crazy trucker who was crawling up my a** as me and a friend were heading east from Oklahoma City, OK to Fort Smith, Arkansas. Never saw a police car the entire way.

............. I was trying to out run a crazy trucker who was crawling up my a**............

I had that happen to me once on my first bike, 75 CB550,  I hit the ton to get away from the truck.  Just about sucked off the bike by the eddy on my back.  Then the scary part was the speed wobble when I started to slow down.

121 mph according to tach on a heated up Triumph Bonneville through the mountains between Oregon and California highway 99e ( I think it was the top of the Grapevine) don't remember what rpm but I do remember hooking my toes over the tail light laying flat out on the seat and tank and letting her go, dammed uncomfortable after any distance, think year was 1961. Possibly faster than that when I was mechanicing doing road tests wasn't interested enough to sit down and figure out gearing, rear tire size and rpm because of time constraints.

i hit 45 in 1st on the k4 750 today, right at redline (the 750f redline since i'm now running f springs and cam) i could feel the front end getting light most of the way through it too. this is with a 17/46 sprocket set and a 110/90/18 rear tire. sure pissed off my neighbors though.

CB750 K1  120mph @ 8000 rpm ... way back in the 70's (I was 18 and foolish)... RCMP can almost verify that as they gave me a ticket for over 75mph as I was slowing down for my turnoff ... they said they were giving me a break ... only 3 points.

If I remember correctly ... 2nd gear to 65 mph, 3rd to 90 mph and 4th to 105 mph ... these speeds have stuck with me cause its been 34 years since I last drove her.

130 MPH @ 8500 RPM in fourth gear on My K1 on Saturday. With pull-back handlebars, 2 inch over forks and lowered rear suspension, the front end got very light and I felt like I was skipping across the bumps in the road. I ran out of road before I could shift into fifth, which is probably a good thing.............  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Somewhere between Eastern Oregon/Washington and Idaho, laid out on the seat and ran it up to indicated 110+ last year, felt pretty solid but maybe that was because of the 100+ pounds of camping crap on the back. Way back when I was a kid, had my gt380 up to an indicated 110, very light in front, didn't do it for more than 4 or 5 minutes cuz it felt like it was floating. Now in my old 68 GTX...140 on a brand new freeway early in the day with no traffic, my 3 buddies in the car with me got nervous so I slowed it down, but I had a lot of pedal left...only car I ever had that was as much fun as a bike  ;)

On a bike about 130 on an 08 1125CR. Probably 120ish on my Bandit. Funny thing is I have been much faster in cars but have not really done high speed runs on bikes. 177.4mph is my personal best in a car and yes it was a closed course. It was also in massively over built C5 Z06 with a serious cage and harnesses so it was not that big of a deal. I would have tried for more put they put those pesky turns at the end of the straights.

Around 165 mph, ZX12, 5th gear still pulling like a freight train. Not much to it, gets there real quick and smooth. Now 90MPH on my 280lb RD400 street tracker is SCARY!
You know you've achieved perfection in design, not when you have nothing more to add, but when you have nothing left to take away.
