Pinks.
« on: July 05, 2005, 09:48:32 PM »
Any one here rooting for the GS on pinks?  I know it's not a Honda but my rider is a GS so I'm tuning in for this one.  I don't care for the show and I'm thinking the V-rod will be given some sort of advantage to let it win.  Atleast if thats the case it will only have won by negtiations not horse power.

It's a TV show that is a best out of three drag race.  Winner takes the other persons car.  This Wed. "tomorow" is a motorcycle race between a GS1100 and a V-rod.

I don't know if either is modified for racing.  I hope the GS1100 is.  The GS1100 is about 20 yrs old but both bikes have similar 1/4 mile claims from the factory.  I'm thinking the GS rider has been around racing for a while and should spank the new V-rod poser.  Well, who knows, I could be dead wrong and in for a disapointment.

Is that on digital cable?  I've heard of the show but don't think I get that channel. :(

It's on Speedvision. The same channel that cut Two Wheel Tuesday from an hour long show to a half hour. Very disappointing.

BOOYAAAA BABY!.....  That should shut some Harley bragarts up for a while.

First race went to the Harley.
Second race went to the Suzuiki.

Harley complained of bad clutch and was given a length.
Suzuki caught up to the Harley in the third and blew by beating it by about a lenght.

Suzuki owner went home with two bikes on the trailer.  If it were me I'd have some V-rod pieces up on E-bay tomorow.

I am also bumed about the two wheel show being cut back.  Atleast I still have some races on sunday to watch.

Glad the GS won, though the show itself is a bit of a disappointment.  Did anybody else find the host a bit on the overbearing side?  It seemed like both of the contestants understood the contest rules perfectly well, but he kept asking them to "negotiate."  I know he has to fill in everybody tuning in late, but if he had kept quiet we could have watched two races.

On another Speedvision note, has anybody seen "Texas Hardtails"? Looks like a fake reality show about a Texas bike builder.  I can't decide if it's the worst show I've ever seen or one of those oddities that slipped by the Fox management and is so bad it's good.  Thoughts?

gotta admit I was surprised with the results....I didn't figure the powers that be @ Speed TV would allow such a major advertiser on their network to look so....bad!

Just not the same without Paul Teutul Sr. reaming someone a new @**hole, huh? ;)

I don't think Harley came out looking bad.  If they wanted to build a race bike they would have put a street version of the VR1000 on the road.  That would get my attention....  If you want to blow that much money on a powerful muscle bike the V-rod is nice.  I think the only one looking bad here is the guy who laid down $20K and then was dumb enough to go up against a Japanese four.  I have nothing against Harley the CO.  It's the riders who can't see the good aspects of any other bike.

Thats about it chris. SO many hardly riders look down on us or are just outright #$%*s. I think they get caught up in their image too much. Thankfully there are SOME decent hardly riders that realize that all bikes (except maybe crotchrockets) offer something to motorcycling.

I've programmed my PC based PVR to record the show from now on.  If anyone who can get it ever wants an episode or two, let me know and I'll toss them onto a DVD for you.

Do they do anything to twist the knife after the race for the entertainment of the viewers?  I would watch it just to see that guys face when he realizes he threw tens of thousands of dollars down the tube.  :D

The riders did have a little moment at the end before the Harley owner went home with an empty trailer.  You should see the belly aching going on at the v-rod site.  Some of my thegsresources buds have actually posted on the site but I don't think thats very nice.   ;D ;D ;D ;D.  A whole mess of claims that the show is staged.  One claims to know the riders as semi-pro drag racers that were paid to ride the bikes by the show.
