Your brother or his wife must be a heavyweight....

Broken seat  ::)

           Tim, THAT would be my Brother's A$$, uh, I mean BUTT! Oh well, it a;; comes out the same doesn't it! ::) I mean, you park that much lard on a seat, long enough, somethings gotta give.
 ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

          BTW, AFTER I had already gotten the Berryman AND put it in, I found that Wal Mart had the Sea Foam also. At present, I'm draining the oil, so I can change it and the filter. Bought an air filter too, but it wasn't bad (have to say that I amSurprised, I mean SHOCKED! :o Trying to get things serviced up to snuff. A/C isn't running very cool and needs to be converted over to 134. Best I remember, you CAN drain the system down (I know, not supposed to vent to the atmosphere), pull a vacuum and service up with 134 (after changing hookups). Some don't recommend doing it that way, but I know it's been done that way successfully. Got to get back after it.

                                  Later on, Bill ;)

"If you're mulling a change to R134a, consider this: you can retrofit for well under the cost of a full R12 charge. The worst part of the change is draining the compressor and replacing the mineral oil (incompatible with R134a) with ester oil. This will only cost you $5 and some time, and the ester oil will work with R12 if you decide to switch back."

The oil is needed for the compressor.   R134a eventually converts the mineral oil to something that will no longer lubricate the compressor.  Replace the oil now, or replace it later along with a new compressor.

        Apprecaite that TT, I'm not even sure where I might could even FIND some R12, nowdays. I will definitely be converting to 134. Kinda have gotten used to being able to turn on the ol' A/C and chillin' out, ya know? Been a little while since I've done any A/C work on a vehicle, but I'll get er' done. :)

          Well Sam, at least I was in the "OPEN" forum AND there IS a motorcycle (of sorts) with a Dodge engine in it. :P ;D (a bike called the Tomahawk, built onto a VIPER V-10 engine!)   ;D :D Besides, my Dad and I might end up coming down to Georgia to the Barber Museum in that old truck and it needs to be as comfy as possible. ;)

Me too. We're here for ya, Bill.  :)

          Thanks guys, I know there are some who keep up, but don't post as much and I understand that too. ;)  I mean, there is only so much a person can say, without feeling like he's repeating himself. Shoot, sometimes I start putting something together to post on here and I feel like I might have already said it. And when I check, sure enough, I have! ::)  So, if anyone runs across something that I am repeating myself on, just kinda overlook it, if you don't mind. :-\

          BTW, not much going on right now. Just trying to get that stinking truck straightened out. Heater core had a leak (Trans Shop guy put some stopleak in there and felt it would be okay for awhile and it was, til it got worse. I tried to redo the stopleak and it is too bad and will have to be taken care of. :-\  I used to do things like this myself, but now days I take them somewhere to GET them taken care of. Dad calls my problem "A...G...E" ::)

          I used to be certified through the military, to work on those systems AND to charge them up with R12, but I doubt that that still holds true. It's been over 10 years ago. I'll just have to see what I can do about that. ;)  Thanks Tim,  Bill ;)

        Well folks, Yesterday, I went in that morning as usual, to check my Dad's blood sugar and give him his insulin shot and (out of the blue) I asked him if he'd like to take a trip. ;D Of course he said "Sure, I'm ready to go ANYWHERE, ANYTIME"! I quickly said, now if you don't want to go, you know you don't have to. ;D Then, I said that we needed to get going because we were going to the lake (his home), along with my Wife and James (the Special Needs young man). And they were going to do some fishing while we (He & I) checked for the things that David had listed in his response to my Dad wanting his things back. Well, we went and had a good time (Dad really enjoyed the "Sudden Trip" and, when I wasn't looking, put a 20 dollar bill on my console in the van. ::) He just likes to "treat" whenever he can. ;) We kinda swap off on who pays for what and I can always tell when to let him pay, cause if I don't let him pay, when he REALLY wants to, he will get his feeling hurt. He's had more than his share of THAT already. BTW, he picked out some things to bring from his home, to his apartment and I thought that was cool. 8)

Having to go through the R12/134 thing, I've found that it is about the same cost to charge R12 or convert to R134.  If you convert, then down the road if you need a charge, R134 recharge kits are available at Wallymart.
Go metric, every inch of the way!

        Yeah, all things considered, I'll probably just do the conversion to 134. Thing is, if only it would have been just a few years ago, I still had some R12 and would have simply topped it off. But, little did I know how things would turn out over these last few years.

        BTW, when we were down at my Dad's place on Friday, he found his and my Mom's original wedding rings and brought them back with him and tonight he opened the ring box and took out a coin and asked me if I'd ever seen an Indianhead Penny? Well, I had, in collections and such. He handed it to me and said, "It's yours to do whatever you want." "I want you to have it, I really appreciate everything that you HAVE done and ARE DOING for me! It is an 1862 Indianhead Penny. I told him that I would do the same as he did, Keep It!

         Thank You myhondas. Really appreciate that. :) But, I STILL don't think that David has seen the light, if he has, he's trying to put it out. We're still having to "Go After" my Dad's things.

        BTW, I went to my Dad's apartment this morning, as usual and checked his blood sugar, finding that it was "304!" I like to have had a cow! I gave him his insulin and waited for a bit before I checked it again. The 2nd time I checked it, it was "324!!!!" :o  I called my Wife (also a diebetic) and she reminded me that he should drink some water to help get it back down. In the meantime, she tried to get hold of my Dad's Doctor. She got the Doctor "on call" and he also recommended give my Dad another dose of insulin (I didn't want to do THAT unless I really had to because I didn't want it to go too far down either. So, I started having him drink water and checked again about 30 minutes later and it was 239. Thank God, it was going back down! Then, when I checked about 30 minutes later, it was 156. Needless to say, we missed Church and going out for the noon meal. But, my DAD is doing well. The Retirement Home had fixed "CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES AND] he used REGULAR syrup (lots of it!). ::) Never HAVE spent a Father's Day like this one. I'm just glad that we were able to get things stabilized without ANOTHER hospital trip. Needless to say, did a bunch of EXTRA Praying today. ;)

       BTW, he will STILL get a meal out, this evening. ;)

Biil, you can do the conversion yourself, and I have done it many times. If there is any R12 left you bleed it out till you have a babys breath puff, this avoids air and moisture getting in. Then just charge with the new stuff. You can get the convo kits at Walmart.
I know I will be flamed on many levels, but it does work fine.

Having to go through the R12/134 thing, I've found that it is about the same cost to charge R12 or convert to R134.  If you convert, then down the road if you need a charge, R134 recharge kits are available at Wallymart.

He handed it to me and said, "It's yours to do whatever you want."           Yeah Bobby, I have already picked up a fitting kit and some 134 that is supposed to be compatible to the R12 oil and such. One thing I hadn't thought about, was leaving a dab in there, to keep out the moisture and air from getting in. Thanks for that. ;)

      Went down to do my Dad's lawn work today. A buddy went with me to help out and towards the end, a fellow that knows David and me, came over. Far as I know, he's trying to stay nuetral on this issue. I have to say, I do not understand how ANYONE could consider David a friend. But anyway. I am watching what I say, just in case. He said he had heard David's side and wasn't so sure that that was all there was. During the course of conversation, he said that the indication was that David would be willing to settle this alot easier and quicker, if he could just have the house he is presently living in. He also had stated to this guy that My Dad's Home was supposed to be left to David, so that it could be passed on to Nicky (David's son). I only told this guy stuff that should be common knowledge AND some things that would indicate the attitude of David and the treatment I had received over the years. I DID tell him that my Dad was pretty MAD because of the way that he'd been treated and that he knew that Jan had put him in that nursing home for forever! I also let him know that, on the day that Jan was going to put my Dad in that nursing home, DAVID went FISHING! I also let him know that it would be completely up to my Dad, but he did not want to even SEE David!  Makes me think that they might be getting a little concerned about having a place to live! He should have thought about that BEFORE ALL OF THIS! Don't Ya Think?

  We should be getting on with this part pretty soon now and
we'll see how it goes.
