Yea, I get the same thing from other Harley riders, not all of them but a large number. Where is WI do you live now? Last I knew you were just south of the boarder..  It sounds good, and I would expect there to be tons of tork that is what twins are known for. However maybe some tweaks could get you to the ton.. it should do it.. Looking great!

Awesome, so I have passed by your place at least twice this week... lol Go figure.

Yea, assuming the timing is spot on, that would be the place to make the changes.

This is very nice work.  Hopefully you can take a few glamor shots and post 'em up. :)

How does the stock M/C work with the dual calipers?

I agree man, right now the tank is off the bike, I started to repaint it and my wife put a stop to it to do the kitchen, its almost done and I just need to finish a few things then paint the tank and she should be good to go. Seeing how we are less then 20min from each other it should happen..

thanks fellas  ;D

a few updates

my taillight was getting a little too much love from the tire .. so i moved it up 1/2 inch and chopped 3/4 inch of the mounting plate .. hope that works , otherwise i'll have to either find a smaller tail light or rework the whole rear end

before

after

also , my exhaust tips rattled a little too much for my liking .. i really wanted them removable, but i put some little 1/2 inch weld on the inside (not visible side)

gonna go ride it now and see what happens  ;D

so how'd it work out, you may be wondering ....... well it failed in catastrophic fashion .

hit a big bump , tire hit taillight , taillight exploded , all the mounting brackets were ripped off (it was a pretty big pothole)

sigh....  i had to say somthin about reworkin the rear end didn't i  ::)

when the gussets were ripped off it pulled the whole fender in on it's self  :'(
you can see burned up pieces of the tail light stuck to the tire  :o

no worries .. i already got somethin cool in the works ,should be much stronger, and hopfully cooler  ;D ;D... you'll see  ;D

You know, if you measure and ensure that you actually have enough clearance, it doesn't have to be very strong at all!!! ;)

Seriously, looking forward to what you come up with.

early shot

after looking at countless taillights , and not liking any of them , (when you don't want LED you don't have many options) i've decided i'm gonna put the taillight on the plate mount .. so i remade the plate mount moving it in closer to the bike .. it was beside the shock , now it's in front of it , from this view

i would like to add that i still haven't had to spend a dime on this whole rear end re-vamp... which got me to thinkin about how much i've spent on this build ... so i did a little math .. aaaaaaand  ... not including the tailight i have to buy, or the tax, title and plates i still have to get.... i came up with 365!!!

..oh yeah...and i still really need tires....but still 365!!! .. I even  thought it was higher than that

Spikey- this bike is Freak'n amazing!  1st, it keeps getting better and better looking with each revamp.  Then, the idea that you've got <500 bucks in it!!  Man, I've got to learn to economize-  I've blown that much money on a gas tank before!  :-(
