Seaweb, your Coyote looks like a German Shepard Cross. Bet she's really smart.
Med, the Auzzie cross looks like our old Auzzie Shepard/Blue Heeler Cross we lost in
the spring. Whats the dog with the black band?
The new pup will be keep outside for sure, I figure she'll be happy as a lark in
these mild Virginia mountain winters. Might not get cold enough for her.
It does for me though.
Rocking, the only dog we can pretty confidently identify is the Yelllow Lab; and even he is without papers. The sled dog/Aussie mix was a rescue dog. My wife moved out here a month ahead of me almost 7 years ago. She knew that I had grown up around championship Huskies (neighbour was a breeder) and love sled dogs in general. She saw Pazzy at the shelter ("just looking, honest!") and knew she would suit me well. We didn't know the dog is mildly psychotic, but I don't mind. I'm smitten by her.
The black and white is also a rescue dog. She came to us off the street. Had been living among several homes in the area for a while when my wife decided to keep her. Except for very short hair, she looks to be a Border Collie. And she has that clever, quick, mischevious intelligence that BCs often have. OTOH, we know a shepherd outside Beit Shemesh, Israel who has a male that could be her twin brother. That dog is almost certainly descended from Canaan dogs. So....go figure!
One daughter has a pure-bred, all black GSD from a breeder in Texas. Another daughter has a wolf-dog mix that she knew the parents of. Those are our only dogs whose lineage is known to us for sure. (Both not at home, thankfully!)
We don't really know the pedigree for any of our animals. We're just grateful for them.
