I have used Semi-Chrome for years with good results. It's made in Germany I believe and I have a hard time finding it here in Western Mass . Not cheap but the stuff is worth it.

Thanks for the comments guys, with the standards some of the others on here are setting, Fun Jimmy and BG Football especially :o  I'm really having to put in some work just to even get close.

With regard to the aluminium polishing, for the final finish I'm using a product called Autosol, it's supposed to be a chrom cleaner but I'm really happy with the results I'm getting 8)  It's almost making the aching fingers worth it, and I'll tell you this, the next build is going to be all matt black ;D

Bryan, I didn't get back on line until Monday so I was too late to catch you. I think with all the various delays though, I might postpone the engine build until later this year, with this weather were having I'm just itching to get the thing up and ridden now.

Hondaman, I've sent you a PM ;)

Had a couple of spare hours yesterday so I decided to design myself a fork brace:

It is intended to sit securely on the fork seal shroud locating groove, I think I'll make a little cap to allow the shroud to fit to the top of the brace.
I'm going to make up a test piece in 25mm MDF and 16mm dowel rod this afternoon to test the idea, before I cut into any aluminium, and finished article will have to be more rounded on the edges I think.

Very nice Crispy, don't forget to have your wheel (with tire) and front fender (if you're using one) installed, for clearance checking. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Don't worry, there's been some very careful measuring going on in that department Terry ;)

That's also why the first one will be in MDF and wooden dowel, just in case ;D

Well, after a considerably longer work related absence than intended (and some interesting new stamps in the passport), I'm finally back in a position where I can both get online regularly and get some work done on the bike ;D

Whilst I was away I had some different thoughs bout how I wanted the bike to look, so when I got back the frame went back to the coaters for a second coat  ::)

I got it back last week and am really pleased with it

I've spent every evening this week building a new wiring loom and screwing bits to her, it's great dealing with all clean bits 8)

The front wheel needed the tyre taking off because the hub needed machining to make the discs fit the calipers, and my friends lathe could only just swing the bare wheel.
The 750 cush drive hub needed a serious amount of material removing to bring the wheel to the centre of the bike and line the sprocket up with the gearbox.

This is the cuurent state of play, the loom is fully installed and tested, the motor is almost fully connected (needs new oil seals in the clutch cover) and ready for oiling up and run testing.  The rear brake is installed and bled through, the front brakes are all fitted and set up, I've tested the calipers individually with a length of hose I had lying around but I'm getting a new set of stainless braided hoses made up by a local hydraulics supplier this week.

At this moment I'm taking advantage of the fact that my current employers have kindly installed the latest version of AutoCad on my laptop to design a bracket to carry my tail-light and number plate ;D

The MDF and dowel fork brace fitted OK by the way, the drawings and model are now with my friend for replicating in aluminium :)

With a bit of luck I should have a good couple of months running before the bad weather sets in and the bike comes back into the garage for engine removal and panel painting ::)

The motor will be going for it's much delayed rebuild with the Mike Rieck head, the tank and covers will be going for a coat of Honda Racing White, and some decals in a 750K0 style, in the same colour as the frame.

LOOKIN GOOD!  I can not wait to see the finished project, interesting mix of 750 parts, that should look pretty damn mean!  I absolutely love the Giuliari seat, been trying to find one of those reasonably priced for quite some time.....

Make sure and post lots of pics......

The gold comstars are supposed to be getting painted black and the edges polished over the coming winter, but I'm kinda liking them :)

The BCR pipes are awesome I'm really pleased with them 8)  The finish is excellent, the sound is superb, and they assembled  onto the bike perfectly

The tank and side covers are going to be painted Honda Racing White, the same colour as found on the  Integra Type R, with a K0 style tank decal to match the frame.

I sorta like the gold rims with the red frame, I think they go together nicely.

Did you seriously nickel-plate the inside of your tank??  Gotta show up pics of that!

cheers

We tried it, but it didn't actually work as well as was hoped because the electrode needs 'line of sight' to the area for plating, and we couldn't get one inside the tank without risking a short.  It did sorto fo work though, and still sounds cool :D

The tank and side covers are at the painters at the moment, I'll try and photograph the internal results when I get it back :)

Looking good!

Suggestion:  Consider painting the rotor centers white, seems to me like you need something to balance the white on the tank and side covers a bit.  Maybe also some whitewall tires?

How's she running?

Looking good mate, I wonder if you can just remove the rivets on that front fender bracket and re-rivet it the other way around? They look good the right way around. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Your instincts were spot on with the white body/ red frame; I think the gold Wheels are just right too!

I disagree with an above suggestion however to add white to the rotors or anywhere else- I think your 'livery' is great as it sits. Just my opinion though.

On the 750, one can drill out the rivets on the fender brace when flipping the calipers to the back side. I did and rather than rivet it back, I used stainless bolts and capnuts with the capnuts on top.  I can't tell from the pictures if your fork leg has bolt places for the lower stay.

Also, I've considered but not done, bolting a different fender to the brace altogether, if a suitable one could be found.  Possibly without the stay.
