AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: February 16, 2008, 04:40:16 PM »
so i have NO idea how this happened ,i don't want to speculate because it doest really matter .. you may think I'm handling this well , but I'm not

i wasn't in the garage for a few days , there was a bed sheet over the bike witch i assume caught fire from either my diesel heater or someones cigarette (all my friend smoke)

anyway here it is, please shed a tear for me (i already shed quite a few)

the good news is i was working on some wiring so the gas tank, seat, side covers, and carb rack were on a shelf

here is the stock stuff that i will most likely have trouble finding so if you guys have any of this stuff you wanna part with let me know please

-entire electrical panel
-entire wiring harness
-fork gaiters
-throttle cables
-tach and speedo cables
everything else is custom

Oh man!!!

I saw that, and choked up a bit....

At least like you said you were working on her, and the gas tank wasn't on it!!!
Just imagine the devastation that could have been possible with 4+ gallons of gasoline added to that!

If I had any 750 bits you needed, i'd love to help, but what i have you are not needing. :(

Good luck, is the paint on the motor OK?

Sorry to see that happen to your bike, lucky it did not continue to the house...

I'm no investigator, do you think your electrical dabbling may have caused the problem ??? but I would think if all your friends smoke and they smoke in the garage - a stray flick could cause the fire too. :'( :'(

Wait...

Is spikeybike a 650, 550, 750???

If it is a 650, i've got a wiring harness i'd donate.
I might have a tach cable spare as well.

Ok, a 550F?
The only thing i have would be a tach cable.... what is the length of the one you need?
mine is off a 650, mabey too long for what you need.

Well, while you are down this far.... Have you ever thought of internally wiring the wiring harness?
It would be a feat, but considering what you have done to the bike already, it looks like you would be up to the challenge possible.

Dude.

That's so tragic.

If it's a 750 then I have some parts for ya.

Glad you didn't loose anything else.

I don't think it's been posted yet so here is the link to what I think is his latest build pre-fire for reference.  I am truly sorry about the damage, However I expect this from you Spikey. . .

Spikeybike's Bike.  A Bike barely alive. Gentlemen, SpikeyBike can rebuild It. He has the technology. He has the capability to build the world's first bionic Bike. Spikeybike's Bike will be that Bike. Better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster.

Here is the build thread http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=29388.0

Bike was just too damn hot.  Sorry for your bad luck.  I don't have anything that would help in the ressurection unfortunately.

Could have been much much worse.  Like full-gastank on the bike worse.

Brings back old memories. I picked up a burned CB 400 for $50.00 .... After I got the wiring sorted out... Started it up and the engine was sooo smooth and tight...
