The '81/'83 CB650 CV carbs did not have diaphragms....
The DOHC cb650 ('83-'85?) carbs do have diaphragms.

I'm glad the 650's dont have the diaphrams.   The ones on my 360 suck.

Portland seems to have a inordinate amount of 650 riders.

Broke the cam tensioner bolt??
Ugh....
If you can't find one locally, I might be able to scrounge one up.

Yeah,

Not sure what it is about the 650's in the area, but you see them every now and again.  We also have a lot of 400 Four Super Sports out here.  People love to cafe those!

time and $$ is an issue on my part. I'll be done next year prolly :) Can't seem to find exhaust muffler (like just head pipe sound though), would love to get spoke wheels with some Pirelli's, throw the clubman's on there, bar end mirrors, add pods and def need carbs.....still need to get a seat for this beast..that one is ugly...I have allot to do...this isn't a cafe bike at this point...Just a project in process and my ride for now.

Will these CV carbs switch out with the Mechanical carbs on a 80 cb650..... Thanks

They will... but you gotta make 'em work to an extent.

3 things needed really.

1 the '81/82 cb650 CV carbs
2 '84 through '91(?92) carb isolators off of a kawasaki ninja.
3 the appropriate throtthe cables for the '81/'82 cb650 CV carbs.

Soos, look what I just found on craigslist....

"parting out 2 kawasaki zx600's,1990 zx600D and 1986 zx600A,Let me know what ya need."

My carbs seem to be fine for now(were leaking) but wondering if I should buy these carbs also...
Going to buy the isolators for sure.

Thanks for putting this in my head....Came across it and was like sweet I know what I could do
with these..

We're at 15 now!

We're at 15 now!

The isolators are definitely needed for the ZX600 carbs on a '79/'80 cb650 with the non-CV head.

If you have a '81/'82 cb650 with the CV head... you can pretty much drop them in.
Same spacing as the CV cb650 stockers.
They even fit the stocker cb650 carb isolators.

Easy to clean, easier than any other carb I have seen to adjust the jet needle position...
nice overall.
If you get a chance go look at the carbs in person if you plan on buying them.
Always go for the newest you can, as the rubber will be that much newer internally.
Unless he is wrong on the bike years, both of those SHOULD have the same carbs.
they didn't change the ZX600 carbs until... '92? '93??

For the isolators, if he asks more than $25 for them, look on feebay.
I keep snagging sets for under $20.00
The carbs however tend to go for about $60-$160 a set on feebay.

If you get those, i'll gladly help you as much as I can.
PM me if you get them and have any Q's.

Good luck to you.  Two really good resto threads on this forum are 'CB650c rest-o by a total newbie' (my sig links to it) and Hush's CB650PZ.

Thanks...Yeah, original seat pan. I had Nick at Dave's Trim Shop do it (Lockport NY). He did an awesome job. I'll try to get a closer pic of the seat so you can see the stitching.

I just wanted to make it look a little different than my buddy's 650. Plus the original bike, pic a few pages back, was horrible. Next thing for me on this is to get different tail light(cat eye) and install the LED blinkers I have already purchased.

ride safe \m/
