Whilst we're on the subject of small bikes .... the Postie has a cult following here in Oz.
They're cheap, lend themselves well to mods and a ball to ride.
Here's a selection.

Anyone know if the madass 125 or 70 are reliable bikes?

The engine looks like a Honda CT70 or st90.

According to a young mechanics that works for one of their outlets here in Melbourne, they are bullet proof but expensive when bits are needed.
I've not needed/wanted to buy any Sachs parts other than their twin projector headlights and I can vouch for their over-the-top prices.
The postie, in it's raw form may not look as cool but it's sh!tload cheaper and can be made to go damn fast for far fewer bucks.
Here's a link, http://store.onetenmotorcycles.com.au/?articleID=CMS&subpage=3 , to a bunch of lunatics that have the class LSR with one.

There was also a really slick grey one with a top bar in this thread a while back but I'll be damned if I can find it!!

I've seen one parking outside my work for the last three and a half years, just about every day it's there.

That looks to be chock full of expensive parts.  I see an ARD magneto, alloy mags, CR carbs, a nicely done oil tank, Ceriani forks, and I'm not even sure what the tank is.  Sure has nice paint though.

That tank is from West-Eagle, I think it is $1300.00 or as ,much as $1800.00 don't remember. Aluminum.

is this style called a salt tracker? or some thing along the lines of being made for the salt flats

No such thing.
Are the salt trackers no such thing), like the burning man bikes of the youth generation?

I'm not a big fan of that girder ,and i woulda went with black exhaust wrap myself.... but the rest spot on

For the life of me, I will never understand why one would do a photo shoot in THE DARK...???!

Also many young people take the photos of the bike laying on the ground looking up at the ugly bottom of the bike. All the magazines,go look.
Go look at the Harley Davidson ads. Look at many of the ads. No straight side shots anymore.
All the photos are distorted in some way.
What is wrong with just a nice side view of the motorcycle?huh

I'm skeptical that's a west eagle. It does look like their stretched sportster tank but has an offset gas cap. Are you on good authority?

Be still my beating heart.  :P Those tanks are bike porn.
BUT, at 1.5 US gallons (~5.5 litres) a punched out, cammed, carbied etc. etc. 750+, or even a stocker, isn't going to get very far between drinks.
Would be nice to have on your flat tracker "just to get to the local shops and back" 750 though  ;D
