What IS this? The tank/headlight combo is amazing!
the mz from east germany..in denmark ve called this modell "the banan",,the front light are fixed..and turn not vith the handel..the MZ are erlyer DKV...east..there vas also a vest dkv

Looks like an MZ?? I think they're German.  I saw one a little while back but I don't remember where?  I kind of liked the way the tank and headlight came together too - has a very period look to it.

+1...it's another gear queer

Lol.....my girlfriend has a similar name for them  ;)

It's an early East German MZ 250, later ones had conventional headlight mounted on fork tubes
I worked for a Honda, Yamaha, MZ dealer in the late 70's
Motor was based on the 1960's ISDT winning engines.
Surprisingly good motors after we changed the main bearings on first service, the street 250 would do around 90+mph

I saw this at Barber last year. Nighthawks are relatively inexpensive and pretty bullet proof. I've been tempted to recreate something like this.

Right on. I'd definitely have to come up with a way to mount the side covers. And some SuperBike bars.

I think it may have actually been a JDM K1, and yes I believe it's stock. I think it's stunning.

I went for a ride up to Cold Springs Tavern on the pass above Santa Barbara today and spotted these  among all the Harleys. A Street legal Rickman Triumph Metisse and a pre-unit Triton. Two really nice machines.

Had to make a second loop around the park/roundabout to snap a shot of this little beauty.  Perfection.
