So if I replace the stator what do I do with the OEM plug? Do I need to re-sleeve it with the new stator?

And what is the blue/red wire you see in the photo? Is that going into the OEM connector?? What’s it for?

Andy, isn't that wire actually green/red?? It's for the neutral switch under the motor, probably why it was included in the protective sleeve with the new stator wires. Since you will probably have to cut the new stator wires to fit the rubber block, you might as well splice the new wires to the old ones where Anders did before.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Thanks Scottly for the above message - there is a green/red wire that goes to the neutral switch under the motor - removed that with no issue but there is also that blue/red wire that came from the alternator area and I think its the ground for the oil switch. Either way as you suggested will splice the wires where Anders had done so to fit the new stator. Ricks Motorsports in NH is helping me as they sell replacement stators and have offered to fit it for me. Will update when I get it back on the bike.

Update!! Just received the rewound stator from Ricks Motorsports - with all new wiring, rubber connector and OEM connector - really impressed!

Now just to fit it

Rocks tested the reg/rectifier and that was not the problem

Yes of course! I shipped them the stator/alt cover and wiring and they
1. Rewound the stator by hand as the one on it was different than the R6 stator that they sell.
2 used new/spare grommets .
3. engineering dept ran the old regulator on test dyno for an hour and it held up just fine, no issues.
4. installed the whole thing in the cover with new wiring and connectors

Total price = $188

Part of the kit is the adapter plate behind the windings to fit the R6 stator to our covers.

Throws like 14.1 at idle Jerry...the headlight brightness never dips and stop and go traffic doesn't Darin the battery at all. Doesn't require energy to fire up the field coil so all battery power goes to the starter. The system works great.

Ok I installed the stator, connected the blue/red wire, alt cover and trans cover are back on...reg/rectifier all hooked up but...even though I took plenty of photos prior to disassembly back in October I didnt pay careful enough attention to where the 2 green reg/rectifiers hook up to - see photos - is #2 lead going to the neg battery terminal? And #1 lead?

Re-installing airbox tonight as had to remove that to access the wiring....

Thanks

The other ends of those wires shouldn't have been disturbed; the plug was disconnected from the reg to remove it. Chances are that one goes to battery plus and one goes to ground, as it's a shunt type reg.

I have no idea where Anders chose to ground the charging system. ;D It might even be directly at the battery - terminal? In any case, they didn't need to be removed, and in the older pics the plug is visible unplugged and supported by the wires. You should be good to go.  ;)
