PS When did Franken-Joe start making air-boxes? 8)
This was a one off chrome dip on an old air box I had lying around. Been sitting on the shelf for years.

I have no idea where Anders chose to ground the charging system. ;D It might even be directly at the battery - terminal? In any case, they didn't need to be removed, and in the older pics the plug is visible unplugged and supported by the wires. You should be good to go.  ;)
Yes....directly to the negative battery terminal.
Thanks Mike!

Got it, one lead battery term negative and other to battery positive terminal. Writing this for future ref

After a long winter, reinstall of the new stator went well, hooked up the reg/rec as described above and finally came the point of firing the bike up - first time with volt meter reading a healthy 14.4V  ;D Will get a test ride once it stops raining!

Success!

Well after 96,000 miles and 51 years my tachometer has stopped working and is stuck at 4000rpm. Verified that its not the cable. Are their any easy remedies for a stuck tach?

Thanks

I have recently seen that when testing 2 sets of K2 gauges in parts before sending them to Germany for repair/restore and closing them.  (Forum member "fire113")
I'm in the process to pack all parts... ;)

One tacho needle got stuck at a few thousands of revs direct during a ride.

- The bearing for needle shaft is worn out.
Possible to wiggle sideways. To be replaced when restoring.

The needle can move back when the gauge is held horisontal. Mine slowly did.

Well after 96,000 miles and 51 years my tachometer has stopped working and is stuck at 4000rpm. Verified that its not the cable. Are their any easy remedies for a stuck tach?

Thanks
Andy
