Thanks! Nothing compared to a lot of the bikes on here though :). I'm totally ecstatic about it.

I'm a tinkerer, and I'm used to reyling on forums for info & support, so I'll be hanging around here.

First order of business is making sure everything is functional and reliable (everything seems perfect so far), then cleaning it up a bit (everything is OK), then start changing things, but I'm thinking I won't be going too far from stock... But I guess that's what everyone says.

Nice job on the tank. What gauge aluminum did you use? I've been thinking about making one with knee dents.

14ga, it was my very first alloy tank, so now i'm a little embarassed when people look at it... I'm building this one for my 360t and it's coming out pro... though there have been tanks of varying good-ness in between :)

That's just cruel.

That's funny; I purchased a couple of items from that place. Come to find out the guy who runs it lives about 3 miles from my house in Kirkland, Wa. Saved on shipping charges for sure.  ;D Kevin's a great guy to deal with and If I still had my CB400F I would certainly not hesitate to call him if I needed. Definitely one of the good guys.

Also, if you haven't found them yet, theres a yahoo.com group for CB400Fs that you can also get usefull information from.

Enjoy.

Hi All,

I have recently bought a 4000 mile 77 400F from the original owner.

It is now up and running but I would like to source a new genuine Hond chainguard.  Can anyone help.

Hopefully I have uploaded some pics.  I have more if anyone is interested.

Well I guess I have to get mine in there... Its hard to resist posting ALL the bikes you ever had!

This is my newest 400F.
1975 one owner 11,000 miles, until I got my hands on it.

Really nice care and always stored well. When I got it a few weeks ago it had not been ridden since 1985.

If you look closely you might notice it has a CB750 H4 headlight.
It has a set of Fiam horns and relay that are the loudest#@!*&^% things you have ever head on a bike. I love scaring the crap out of cagers.

It has a set of EPM Itialian magnesium wheels and a Brembo rear brake conversion. And a pair of mint Koni aluminum bodied shocks.
The wheels are super rare and are pretty dang cool. The rear disc is super sweet too.

The rest of the bike is pretty much stock and orginal.

I love vintage speed parts and accessories. So it will get some other tasty bits as it goes along.

Fantastic looking bike you have there, can I suggest you stop at that, you cannot improve on perfection  ;)

The wheels came with the bike. The original owner (now 70+) bought them in the late 70s. He had a friend who was a Ducatti race manager and the bikes he was working with at the time ran EPM wheels...Long story short he got his friend this set. I bought the bike because of the wheel set. I love weird/rare vintage stuff like this.

And it is pretty tasty, lol. But I have a few more bits to up the anty.
Thanks for the kudos though I appreciate it!

Best regards,
Bill

1975 CB400F in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Dad brought it when I was about 8 years old, Think he rode it a few times and then left it in the shed.

Later on it became something to lock his Harley it too...

On my 25th Birthday he gave it to me as I had just got my Learners Licence.

Currently tidying it up a bit... How it looks at the moment

I recently purchased this '77 CB400F from a friend who didn't want it anymore.
I rode this bike 10 years ago and since then, it hasn't been running so I have had some fun getting it back on the road with my CB buddies in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada.
p.s. The mirrors have been replaced with NOS.
