I think I can get you parts at wholesale for those cars.

LMC out of Kansas have parts for MGs, Triumph, etc. I had an old MG project at a shop I worked for in Wyoming...late 90's. I forgot what model but it had dual Webers and they were totally overflowing lamp oil when it came in.I ended up replacing gas tank, sending unit, carb overhaul and even a set of rear shocks (they were some weird lookin units). All of the parts came from LMC. They have catalogs on many foreign and domestic vehicles. I bought all kinds of stuff from them when I had my 69' Chevy P/U.

Jensen Interceptor wantabe

I thought that the BGT came out before the Jensen....

-JP

The MGB GT came out in 65, the Jensen in the pic that Derek posted came out in 66, so you are right in saying that that particular interceptor was after the MGB GT.

However, Jensen started to produce the Interceptor way back in 1951. :o :o :o :o :o

The grumpy wife leaves for "Alabama"?? to visit her Sister in 8 days.  If it is still for sale I will just go get it ;D

She's already pissed about my new garage. She wants another house investment.  I don't get it, I saved the $50,000.00 (my income) to build this garage, have been talking about it from time to time for years and have been designing it on our dinning room table for 3 months and I'm told I should buy another house with the money now.  I haven't even finished this piece of property and I need another?

You would think I sold SUV's and Yachts for a living the way she goes on about what we should do with $$.  ;D  "gas prices"
Every one I know "even women" have tried to explain to her that a waterfront property such as ours will sell a lot easier (in the future)  if it looks like the $mil + 1/2  that its worth now!

$3000.00 for a sports car..............please, just get over it  :P
Count down to the 19th of June ;D

Vent now over.  I feel so much better now somehow?
I just want a new toy and God dam it I should have one!

Uhhh, I dunno......

A few years ago, I was sent out to spent some of our meager disposable income on a 2nd 'family car.'

So $2800 later I roll up to the house in a rusty, leaky, smelly 1966 Porsche 912. It was beautiful- the car I'd wanted ever since highschool. I felt pretty justified- it was esentially my money (she didn't work, unless you count being a stay at home mom a job!  ;) ) and it was my 30th birthday present.

So for the next five years until I sold it, not a day went by that she didn't let me know how disapointed she was.
It was the source of numerous arguments and nights on the couch. Every dime I put into that car (which were MANY) was the source of tension; she wouldn't ride in it; when it broke down she was always 'just too busy' to come and rescue me; blah, blah, blah.

Of course the kids thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. So did all of our friends.
Ha, sweet vindication!

I'm not saying don't buy the car, you obviously have your heart set on it, I'm just saying remember that everything has consequences...

Not to take anything away from the Jensen, of course.

Whoever thought of putting a Chrysler 440 into that little 2300lb 2+2 coupe should either have his head examined or have a holiday named after him.

My guess is that, much like the MGC, Sunbeam Tiger and even the venerable AC Cobra. It probably went like a bat out of hell in a straight line, but the trade-off is handling only slightly worse than a 1966 Volvo 145.  ;D

Had numerous B's over the yrs, including a couple of BGT's. But the car that could scare the bejeezus out of us was the TR7 we had. THe flying wedge. The thing was we had put a nifty little Buick 231 V-6 in that little TR7. Oh, and that wasn't enough, we had to go and build up that V-6 with .030 overbore, hi-comp pistons, balanced crank, cam, 650 cfm 4 brrl, headers, etc.

Great little "sleeper". Surprised a lot of folks. Handled great in a straight line adn it could stop on a quarter!!!  Oh, and for top speed runs, it helped to be on an INterstate in the middle of the night so it was free to wander from one lane to the other. :o :o
A good bike mechanic only needs two tools, WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should, use the WD40. If it does move but shouldn't use the duct tape.

I've always drooled over the MGA's..  Anyone remember the old exhaust systems that were made for the MG's?  Abarth?  Many, were they cool cars- I always felt like my butt was dragging on the street when driving or riding in one.  My dad still has his MG TD kit car that he made in the '80s..  It's a VW converted, with duel carbs, hydrolic lifter conversion, disc brake conversion, etc..  It is as reliable as a stone axe- it never ever fails to start/run EVER!

I used to want a TD.
I think those cars must've been built for 98lb women.  I couldn't even get in.

Just recently there was an article in Road and Track about the book "The Red Car".
The car a MG-TC. I read this book as a kid and couldn't even remember the name of the book
till the R&T article straightened out my memory for me. Of course this book was the source
of my affliction for sports cars.
