 Wow! Took place just an hour West of Winnipeg, already the bleeding heart lefties around here are wondering how this happened, where did society fail this man, was he abused as a child, bullied as a kid, surely someone else is to blame, Parents, TV, Movies, Toy guns, Ernie & Bert. It's just sickening reading crap like "He needs help, we need to rehabilitate him"

First, I read the entire first page, and no one said "He needs help, we need to rehabilitate him".  It did look like there were 10+ pages of comments, but I don't have the time to read all that.

But you are baked if you don't think something in society did this.  I don't think it was "TV, Movies, Toy guns, Ernie & Bert", but it has been proven that child abuse, bullying, and lack of parenting(not parents) can do great harm to someones mind.  The word "blame" is an easy word to use, and would be appropriate if it were only one thing that caused this incident.  I don't think rehabilitation is the answer, or even possible.  But the more information that is brought out about why incidents like this happen, the more society might be convinced to change and stop the causes that led to this tragedy.

I agree with lots of the above, but I'd just like to say that in my experience, news article comment threads often bring out the fruitiest of the fruit loops--those for whom inanity is a consuming passion. Reading those threads may pose risk of head explosion for the mentally balanced.

Hey, I said "bring out" and not "all." ;-) Besides, some voices of reason do try to penetrate here and there. It kind of restores your faith in the general readership. On the other hand, would you deny that many of the comments come from folks who are 1/2 volt shy of a load?

Why wasn't anyone packing?  I took the greyhound a lot when I was a teen and there was more then one occasion I was glad I was.  Too may sick-o's out there. 

What really saddens me is that a whole bus load of people turned their backs and ran.

that's what i said too,there most be atleast a few guys on that bus that could attack that guy and break all the bones in his body...
then again,it probably went really fast,and reading that the poor dude got stabbed in the troat and neck,it would have been likely to late to safe him anyway..
now,just watch........the attacker probably gets away with insanity....serves a few years in jail and then is released again..
i always say,if proven guilty...then the murderer has to be put to death the same way he did his victoms..
in this case,slowly stabb the f*cker to death,but slowly...

I used to feel that way too, but DNA has been proving a lot of guys in jail didn't do it.  It would be a shame to know you killed someone that didn't do it.

yeah,seen a few documentries about poor guys serving 20 years,and then to be proven inocent..
thats sucks big time...good thing there is dna now..
i say,every baby born needs to give dna sample..

but none the less this guy on the bus is proven to be guilty,so lets refraise this,if proven guilty without a doubt....kill same way as victoms
