then i took care of a few small things - mounted some bar end mirrors, installed the shorter throttle and clutch cables, applied the honda tank decal, etc.
i hit a few snags with how it ran... after some head scratching, it turned out that i had screwed up the coil/plug wire order, so the firing order was all jacked up. i fixed that, and all seemed well. took it for a ride around the block, and when i got back, it was puking fuel out of the carb overflow tubes, and out of the carb body by the airbox boot, if you can believe it. soem friends helped me sort that out - the floats were hung up, so a little sandpaper on the pins, and it freed up nicely.
during the tuning, it was still really low on power, and we realized that it was only running on two cylinders - #1 and #4. when we swapped the coil wires, #2 and #3 were running, so we diagnoses a bad coil. this is a surprise, because they are brand new dyna usints. i called dynatek, and they agreed to take it in for testing. hopefully i hear from them soon, and i can have it up and running for the weekend.
in any case, i got her registered for use, and the cosmetic stuff is done - once the coil is in, i'll pronounce the project done for now. here are some pics of the way it looks currently.
