I seem to remember a higher-up at one of the domestic car manufacturers writing the first Honda Civic off as "too small, too cheap and disposable". Shades of Edward Turner at Triumph when the first Japanese motorcycles came to England..............and we all know what happened to the English motorcycling manufacturers after that..
As an examiner I get to ride in all kinds of vehicles. A personal observation is that a 10 year old domestic car invariably sounds and looks its age, whereas an import tends to carry its age much better. What do the North American manufacturers have to do to build 'better' cars.....................apart from re-badging Oriental ones, that is?
