New Lurker needs some help:(
« on: November 08, 2008, 08:08:06 pm »
Hello there everyone. I've been reading this site fairly religiously since I bought my first motorcycle in July(1975 CB400f). I had hoped to have at least sent out an hello email before this but it never happened. Anyway I'm posting because my clutch cable snapped on me today when I was riding and I am really hoping to get another cable pretty quickly so I can continue to take advantage of these few rare "dry" Seattle days. After doing a google search I'm somewhat worried that I'm not going to find one in under a week. So does anyone have a good source for 400f cables?

Thanks for your time.

Your local Honda Dealer should be able to sort you quite easily.

Call around to motorcycle shops and find out which sell aftermarket cables. There are a couple shops here in Austin that keep at least one Motion Pro clutch cable for CBs in stock even thought they're not Honda dealers. I just bought one off the shelf today. Maybe you can get lucky around where you live.

Dennis Kirk ships quickly but they charge a $6 service fee on orders under $100.

All good options! I'm going to call our local Honda Dealer on Tuesday and see what's what.  I really hope they have one. Thanks again for the quick responses!
