now that the scare is over with................
« on: November 13, 2008, 09:14:56 AM »
i havent sent pics out of the project in a while, or finished the project not because i was lazy like i said........i was hospitalized for a few days at our brand new heart wing at palmetto richland hospital. i checked my bp one morning like i'm supposed to.......240/155. i rechecked it 255/185. wife forced me into the car and i called my doc on the way to the er. i was admittited right from the er, i ended up having, i swear, half my blood volume taken for tests (i hate needles)  ;) had a stress test the next day, more damn bloodwork. turns out i didnt know i wasnt supposed to take benadryl anymore now that i have mildly high blood pressure. this time of year i pretty much live on anti-histamines because of all my allergies, turns out the stuff hikes blood pressure way the hell up. so now i'm on 25mg of hctz and no more damn benadryl. almost kicked off guys, i'd have been back to haunt you all though. i promise to take better care of myself from now on after my wife reminded me that not only would she and my kitties miss me but my family would too and since i dont consider most of the emmons family MY family anymore, you guys and ladies are my family.

Wow! :o
Glad you're still with us. BP is a serious thing, lots of strokes in my family.

Move to Arizona for the allergies, a dry climate works wonders for me.

Have you asked about claratin? You can get a generic at walmart and target. Maybe that might work for you.
Remember not to take regular sleeping pills, EXACT same stuff as benadryl.

Whoa - 240/155 and 255/185.  :o Thats some serious b/p. You dam well better watch your health now. Sounds like maybe some exercise, good diet, and a lot less stress are in order for you. Please take care of yourself, the internet family is growing and we don't want to loose any family members. I'm sure a nice relaxing ride would help you once the Doc's get things back in order.  :D :D

Try only using honey that is produced locally as a way to get your body used to the local plants.  It worked well for my spring/late summer allergies, now I don't usually have to take a pill to deal with them.  Also, Claritin D is the only allergy drug I've used that works.  Just don't buy too much of it or you'll have the DEA busting down your door.  ;)

The BP was probably high because you were over filled.  That's why they took out so much. ;D ;D ;D

Dude, watch that stuff.  We would definitely miss you around here.  I was thinking about you today, as I am in Nashville and was visiting the Gibson Showcase.  In the Opryland Mall is this store that is also a shop where they build and repair acoustic guitars, banjos, and mandolins.  They were doing mostly mandolins today.  I was pressing my nose against the windows and thinking "Fuzzy would sure get a kick out of this".

Take care of yourself.

I find that a bottle of aquavit in the freezer and a couple of cigarettes brings my blood pressure reading back down.

I have a custom made leather jacket with a cuff designed into the arm.  Saves a lot of time when I inexplicably fall over.

at 2 this morning i was rushed back to the hospital with severe chest pains, dizziness and shortness of breath. bp on admission was 198/110. so far all that was found was that my potassium is quite low (i'm not taking in enough extra potassium)since i take hctz. they just took my second blood sample checking for enzymes indicating a heart attack, but so far nothing is out of whack other than the potassium. thank god for free wi-fi at palmetto richland hospital

damn, finally found out. right after the shot of morphine, the nurse came in and started to get ready to put the monitor leads on my chest. now, i'm quite hairy and she asked me if i wanted to be shaved before they were put on. this nurse was SUPER cute, and me being stoned out of my gourd said "only if youre the one thats shaving me"  she was cool and laughed and sais "no, its the bald guy right outside there" guy almost my size and just as ugly, i, of course, declined  :D

Fuzzy, I somehow missed part of this, Tried to keep up with it and don't know how I got off. You do know that this sure isn't a good way to go into the last of the year, don't you? ??? :) Sure hope they get things figured out and get you back on track. ;) You take care Fuzzy and get the point that the Cute Nurse ISN'T going to be doing anything that you want, it's going to be that bald guy that was going to shave you. :D Maybe THAT will be the incentive to get out of that hospital. ;)

Shiiit! My doc went ape at me recently because my BP was 153/86! You did well just surviving Fuzzy, be good and get some (gentle) exercise! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
