Being the cynic that I am, I wonder about all this stuff. After all, the sun did rise on Janauary 1 2000 when 'everyone' thought that the entire computer infrastructure of the world was going to come crashing down.

And I wonder if 'they' have included in the exact date calculations the change in the calendar of 1752 from Julian to Gregorian, where Wednesday, 2 September 1752 was followed by Thursday, 14 September 1752.
