Looks like an excellent scenic ride. But yes, it is a summer time thing!

Yeah, probably more than knee deep right now...I have been to Tahoe twice for skiing, and I just dream of cruising through there when it's warm.  Kind of tough from WV

They probably got another knee deep worth last night and if not, tomorrow.

I went there a few times but liked the skiing better elsewhere. Kirkwood, Bear Valley, and dam I miss Lassen("Go Ski a Volcano!"). An hour from Mt. Bachelor and haven't tried it yet. Getting old sux.

Tahoe is a pretty area and there are a mess of small lakes with plenty of trout....

Weekend rides may be compromised by RV traffic.

Happy trails.

Sisters?  I learned to ski at Bachelor when the lifts were still diesel and there were only five or seven of them.  grew up in Corvallis

The roads up that way are gorgeous, rode through there on my 750 on my return trip from SF.

Went through there with the family camping with ski boat one summer as well.
I'm sure they have been snow dumped in the past bit as well ;D

Snow? Isnt that cold wet #$%*? Well it looks nice on Christmas cards, but I think I'd rather go to the beach...............  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

There are sh!tloads of cool roads out here that aren't that high up in elevation. Not sure exactly what elevation Tahoe is but would say at least 5000 ft. You could ride by where I live at 1750 ft. without encountering much snow. Its cold now so nobodys ridin'.

Just think about this Terry: you won't wear out your clothes doing snow-angles in the snow, vs trying to do them on sand. ;D

It is a statepark in california.

Wait until around April, Eldy, and get yer butt on out here. Tahoe sits on the eastern side of the Eldorado National Forest where the roads are magnificent for riding. Twisty enough to keep the larger vehicles to a minimum, and well paved for the most part. Icehouse Road and Mormon Emigrant Trail are still fresh in my mind from late July :)

Just pick a squiggly line on the map and point the bike towards it, can't go wrong ;)  It snowed in the Berkeley/Oakland hills this week(under 1000ft). It's since melted away but damn my fingers ache every time I ride out.

Hope ya got fresh tread on those tires Fred, at least enough for the next few months of wet and cold riding. Look for ya in the Spring :)

Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

We WILL hook up this spring for sure Sean.Jeff is already setting up a ride and although he wants to cover a buttload of miles .....I'm gonna be in for at least 2 legs of the journey!!! Got the fresh tires but need to get some minor carb work done between now and spring (won't be a problem!!).
