Hey Blue,

You might expand your search to include a Drouin if you can't source a Magnuson.

Chris Redpath (www.motogpwerks.com) sorted out Carpy's Drouin supercharger on his Koppa Kafe showbike (http://www.cb750cafe.com/bikes.php?cat=1&id=59).  He's in Orange, CA, so he's in your "neighborhood" if you need some technical help or fabrication work.

Thanks for the info ! I have my mind set on a roots type of blower setup. As for the
fabrication, one of my best friends has a machine shop in his garage. Mill, lathe, press,
plasma cutter, welders for all metals. He's a retired machinist from Santa Fe ! If he only
had a CNC machine!!!  :o

RR, Kawi uses a girdle. You could, if you ran longer case studs run a piece across the bottom, maybe, I will look.

Do you have a measurement less drive pulley, across the end caps of bower.. total width? & height.

I tried fitting a T-bird one but it was just a bit too big, by your manifold spacing it looks like it will be OK.

Somewhere I had an article on the early Magnachargers.. The smallest looked about 1/2 that size.pretty sure there was a 60, 80, 90 & the 100 or 110 model. I thought I heard, that was the displacement per revolution and that it should match engine size in CI. So if that is true, then  smaller may be better for street.. hard to say.

blueturbo, FAGEOL  superchargers make a lower price unit from an extrusion.. so it can be virtually any length or size you want, might be worth a look.

I had a brand spanking new Littlefield 14-71 in my shop last week.. :o.. it weights about 1/2 or more than a CB750 engine.. :o

He said it takes around 500 hp to turn it at 8000 rpm.. not 100 % sure on that..

Had a top fuel dragster blower on my wall for some time.

Blown all to bits. Guy who left it said it would take almost 1000hp to turn it properly.

I don't doubt some of em. They look as big as some small car engines.

Hi, 754. I thought the Kaws used girdles for some blown motors. Any info you can provide will be appreciated.

I'll try to take some measurements of the blower for you.

I'm uncertain about the displacement issue. Finding good info on these devils is a serious PITA.  RR

The Kawi motor if bottom case is off, has a wide cap that is not part of the case, the girdle goes between it and the bolts.Should be shown in speed catalogs.

I will try to dig out a bit of info, AEE used them on a few projects and are shown in the build pics in Chopper quarterly, a mag most cafeowners are not reading. Will try to dig up next week and maybe print the RR  rticle for you.

i couldnt even post for a day or two, after seeing your blower.. :o ...I was 73 Candy Bachuss Green with envy, at your good fortune to own a piece that has eluded me so long..

754...Thanks for the info on the girdle.

I'm sorry to have awakened the green monster; you've always been a gracious helpmate to the board members. Just remember that karma has a way of balancing things out.

I'll try to build a good motor. Thanks again. :)  RR

Another option for a SC for these bikes might be one off a late model golf.  We used one  when building a dual charged (SC/turbo) rx7 many years ago. The units are not very big at all, about the size of a AC compressor if I remember right.

To drive it, if it was mine, I would make the stator sealed from the engine, and machine a pulley to fit between the coil and the block off plate.  Run an exposed stator.

I guess i'm going to use a FAGEOL supercharger. It's made way nicer than the others that i've found and cost a little less. Plus their location is just south of me. Maybe i'll sell my
HILBORN injection setup i gust picked up to get the supercharger.  ;D
