So... where did all the bikes go?
« on: March 03, 2009, 07:42:15 AM »
What happened to the bikes you have owned? I have sent a few to the crusher, a friend still owns my old VFR. My GPZ750 tried to kill me in AZ in 1989. Where did your bikes go? Do you know where they are? Are you trying to find any of them?

I am sure my 67 CL 175 lives on as Toyota parts.

I wish I knew where my 66 MACH 1 ended up, cool bike.
A second MACH 1 , partial bike went to New Zealand..

My 72 gold 750 died a horrible death, buth the empty shattered motor is a diplay engine in my shop.

My 27 HD project, is being roadraced in Europe.

My 350 Honda twin I chopped in the 70s is still in a nearby town I think..

The only bike I had and sold is my first bike that someone gave to me...an early 60's Honda Dream. I have no idea where it is, but I would love to have it back. Hopefully, the '69s wouldn't be jealous!  ;D

1988 650GT Hawk, sold to some kid in Round Rock, TX back in '95 because I needed rent money.

1981 KZ550 LTD, sold to some dude who worked at a seafood place on I-35 in Austin because my cat had just had two very expensive stays at the local animal hospital.

1975 CB400F, sold to a guy from Medford, OR to help fund the 750K1 project.

1973 CB350F, sold to a guy in Napa, CA also to fund the 750 project.  He was at least 6' tall and probably 280lbs, and rode the thing all the way home from Eugene, OR, about 500 miles!

1979 KZ1000ST, sold back to the friend I bought it from a year before, after putting on new rubber and getting it running well again.  I decided it was a little too big for me, and four old bikes was one too many to keep up with since the addition of our son, Leon, last year.

Ouch!  Selling a bike to pay for the cat?!  Man, I'm all for being a pet lover, but that's really adding insult to injury!   ;D

Of the 50 bikes I've owned over the years, 5 or 6 have been sold to family members who still own and ride 'em, all others have gone down the road to other owners...  Only two or three that I wouldn't mind having back again.  On the other hand, life is short, and it's fun to get a bike because "Oh, I've never HAD one of THOSE before..."   :)

I can't even remember where most of my bikes went.  That is saaaad.

400-4, traded in on a XS11. Eventually traded it in for a mini truck.

Wrecked a CB750, rear tire blew, on the 405 I think in California.  Put it over the construction wall to pick it up the next morning, it was gone.  Got a letter from the city saying i owe them $500, I told em to shove it.

Another CB750 stopped running while I was riding it, parked it on the side of the road on 75 just below Dallas to go get a truck.  Got back, someone beat me to it.

Sold a chopped and raked '72 sportster two weeks after I bought it, not my kind of bike.

Had some concoction for a bit before I sold that.  It was a harley hard tail frame with a Triumph 750 twin.  Not my kind of bike.

I have no idea where the late 60's Atlas 100 went.  I know it came from Mongomery Wards, lol.

Had a RD400 that I do not know what happen to it.

Had a Kawi 750 H2 that I do not know where it went.

Had an XS1100 Special with full Vetter package that I do not know where it went.

There were some others that I can't remember.

Now that I did this, that is scary.  I just remember that the years between 14 and 19 years old is a complete blur.  All of these bikes were from those years.

All I have now is my '85 VR that I have had since '94 and the wifes K5.

I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

1970 1/2 CB450- sold to fund purchase of 1973 H-D Sportster.
1973 H-D Sportster- sold to fund purchase 1975 Dodge B-100 van.
1975 CB550- given to my father, later given back and sold.
1977 H-D Superglide- Wife wanted a new cello and I wanted this bike, so we compromised
and got both.  Sold the bike cause I got tired of fixing it.  She still
                               has the cello.
1969 BSA Lightning- sold for no good reason.
1978 CB750F- sold for no good reason.
I do have pictures of every car, truck and motorcycle I ever owned.  Small compensation.

1974 CB750 left in parking lot of old apartment when I joined the circus, gone when I returned 6 weeks later to retrieve it.

CB500 (forget the year) given to girlfriends real live in boyfriend when I dinged up his car driving driving her home loaded one night. I wondered what I would have had to leave him if he knew of all the "dings" I put in his g/f  ::) .....

CB450 (forget year...) seized by Utah state trooper for speeding and no insurance.... I was just happy he didn't search our sag wagon or my saddle bags on my way from CA to Colorado.

RD400- In my cousins basement in Ellenville, Kerhonksen NY, probably right next to my old Yamaha MX100 I sold him around 1986.

1989 Sportster- traded back in to Lomdardi HD, Staten Island NY after having it 4 months and finding out how much $$$ it would cost to transport it to California and make it CA legal when I moved to Cali around Feb 1989.

I hope the motor and sheet metal from my 1967 Triumph Bonnie are still in the basement of our old country house in Kerhonksen, 'cause I want them BACK!

The zx 10 I just sold is on it's way to mexico

I sold a 93 zx 11 to a fella I knew and he used it to cut the top off of a telephone pole. He did get off of it before it hit and he was OK

I sold a 1976 cb 550 supper sport with 11,000 on it to my brother. He took it home and stored it in his heated garage for the last 8 years and he was nice enough to sell it back to me for what I sold it to him for, I need to get that picked up, he is moving to TN 8)

There are others, but who knows

Too many to recall, found em fixed em sold em bought something else.
The only bike I would like back is my dear old 1973 Suzuki T350, some idiot raced it after I sold it and I think totalled it into a wall, that bike had balls man!
Comparible T350 Rebels now sell for $4000 a piece, think I got $400 when I sold it to buy a 65 Ford Anglia to cart my pregnant ex around in.....should have kept the bike and dumped the broad. ;D
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
