Well LMP,

You deserve my upmost respect with this build. It makes me happy that you dedicate this build to one of the great's in Honda history, the late great Morio Sumiya RIP.

Thanks mate,

Rob

Ultimate engine thread? Could you point me in the proper direction? I only ask cause I'm seriously contemplating taking my engine out and having it properly repainted by me  ;D

VERY NICE. And thanks for all the posts. It's been great following you.

The only downside will be when it's completely done and you post the specs from the dyno. We know it's riding time and not wrenching time anymore. Year before last it was Sparty's build, then Seaweb's garage and bike, and now you'll be done. Guess I'll have to step up to the plate soon as I have most of the pieces in place to start later this year.

Looking forward to the start up and ride. Congratulations.

Oh yeah, when I first saw the paint I immediately thought of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Thanks again guys - Malcolm, the first outing is likely to be at October's Stafford show. I have the forms ready to fill in so fingers crossed!

The exhausts are a real treat. They are swarbrick headers, modified to clear the deep sump. The megaphones are newly made patterned off genuine works pipes owned by a guy over here called Paul McGhie. He has a genuine french endurance factory CR750 and took his pipes to a fabricator in Northampton who is truly a genius of metalwork.

The pipes are all made to exact pattern even the rolled over edges on the megas which are apparently a nightmare to do. The whole lot has then been sprayed with molten aluminium to protect it and painted with heat proof matt black paint. All in all the whole set cost me about £850 I think so not bad to get exact replicas eh?   ;)

Cool bike, I hope it runs and lives as well as you expect, you have a huge amount of work in it.

I gotta ask this... back in the day, when it was raced, did they have a matching paint van? :o... and did the bike become invisible when parked beside the van.. ???

Its a wonderful display of craftsmanship.  Well done, Simon!!!  The history adds to the finished product.  By the way........that steering damper looks real nice.

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
