Well I wont have time to work on it this weekend which is to bad, because I just had an idea. It's a wet clutch, so I imagine if I took off the oil pan, I would be able to knock the right case cover off from underneath and inside, right? (I sure hope so)

'fraid not.  There are passages between the sump and the clutch, but none of them are straight enough or large enough to work a push rod into them.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Damn, well I guess I'll maybe try a thin putty knife, try and wedge that in there.

Load it up with WD.  There are two alignment dowels that are prolly gripping the cover.  Triple check that you got all the bolts.  There are two or three along the bottom that also hold a wiring loom.

Thanks for the tip. I removed all 10 bolts. I'll spray a bunch of wd40 on there again before I leave town. Hopefully when I get home I can take it off.

When you whack the cover with the rubber mallet listen to the tone.  The sound will change when the cover starts to come off.

That is an inconceivably egregious transgression against my rudimentary concordance of socially shunned individuals.

Someone mentioned the clutch lever...I noticed when I pulled up on the case lever, it made a pretty loud clicking noise. Is that lever, when in the down position, connected to the clutch? Is that why I can't pull it off? There is quite a bit of travel on the lever:

Should I try and tie it in the up position?

Any opinions whether that lever needs to be in the up position as I pull on it?

For purposes of removing the cover, the position of that lever is unimportant.  That lever has a cam on it which works againt a push rod that opens the clutch plates.  There is no internal "hard" connection.
