I'm sitting here recovering from having my prostate taken out a few weeks ago.

Hope I did the right thing.

Bud: I wish you all the best! It was absolutely right for me, and I would do it again, given the same choices.
Heck, I'd be dead by now if I hadn't, and all these 750s at my house would be homeless!
:)
That is a good story to tell and it makes me happy. About 25% of the time it sneaks out past where they can cut. Then they do radiation to clean it up.
Whatever you choose, it is the outcome that counts.

Heck. Angelina Jolie got her beautiful titties cut off just out of fear and family history.

My brother has the prostate problem, but I figure it's not close enough to me yet.

Still haven't even chosen to Obamacare and no $. I think I'll pay attention next time I hear of a free health scteen with a PSA test, cholesterol, etc.  And then I'll  be there hours early of course. I hate waiting around in line.

Thanks for the encouraged words gents.

Pathology reports all cancer was contained in the prostate, no radiation or chemo needed.

Next checkup in 3 months.

Hell, gotta go back to work on the 15th of June.

That is really good news. When it is confined you are probably cured. They will of course test you on a regular basis. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Been a while since any posting here.

Been over 10 years, and still here with still clean bill of health from prostate issues.

Did go through a tough time about a year ago with CHF Congestive Heart Failure. They told me I had almost drowned my body with beer. Had fluids all around the lungs and heart.

Docs said no more beer....................but I don't listen well.

And not drinking beer is just not in the cards for me.

Prostate = OK

Great news about the prostate..

At least it’s the Doctor you don’t listen well to..
My wife says my hearing is selective. She says I’m a slow learner, she’s had me in training officially for 43+ years..
I’m thinking she may be the one..😇

Sad news yesterday. Our good riding buddy Randy lost a three year fight. He was a serious “BMW only” fan. He organized our last big ride around Northern Ontario on a long loop called “the Gravel Route”. Three days on small highways, cottage roads and logging trails. A retired Fireman, he crewed on our race team, manning the fire bottle on every refuelling stop for the past few seasons. He’ll be missed. This photo was taken outside a Motel we stayed at near Barry’s Bay. Lots of pizza and a few beers that evening…… He’s the guy at the back and will be missed. Fun Times.

It's always best to go out and "do" because you may not get another time for it.
It's great to hear the PSA survival stories, too: mine's been undetectable (less than 0.1) for over 2 decades, so they don't even want to test me anymore.
If it's bugging you, go get it done. There's lots of life afterward: I can say that Levitra works even into the 70s, AFTER the surgery, so if you "get it done" when needed there's much more time to ride again.
See SOHC4shop.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

The demons are repulsed when a man does good. Use that.
Blood is thicker than water, but motor oil is thicker yet...so, don't mess with my SOHC4, or I might have to hurt you.

sad to hear

i've recently had some health issues, weight, insomnia, smoking stuff, and i've added diabetes to my resume. the doctor has got most of it under control with appropriate meds including ozempic for both the diabetes and weight ( i've lost 25lb+ since november ) and she recommended a prostate test. now while i realise this is not a bad thing i wasn't looking forward to the inevitable. and to my surprise she said it's just a blood test now. had that, she hasn't said anything so i guess it's all good. going for my monthly weigh in this afternoon so i should remember to ask about it.

so guys, take all the above advice and get checked but ask about the blood test while you're there

and as an aside all those tests were free, all my meds cost me about $50 a month......had my hip replaced a year or two back, also free. pretty much the only health care we have to pay for in australia is dental
i blame Terry
