...not today but last week on Wednesday drove ~300km to the CB750 Club meeting, bought some parts and have had very nice 5 days there, Sunday I drove drove back but I was smelling fuel as we stopped at the gas station.
Seems that the Oring from the T-adapter between carb 3&4 broke  :P
I opened and closed the petcock on the way home the last 100km  :D

I put $5 worth of 91 Shell gas, about 1.22 gallons, with a small dash of Sta-Bil into the empty gas tank of my Seeley, turned the petcock on, and hit the starter button. The 7 year old LiFe battery spun the high compression 836 engine effortlessly, and after a couple of twists of the throttle to engage the accelerator pumps, it sprang to life for the first time in over two years. ;D Where does the time go?
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

...wasn't the O-ring, it was the fuel line, think I did them 15 Yeas ago.
Did new fuel lines and swapped back the gas tank and side covers, swapped it 2 Years ago.
Took it for a short test ride, rubs good, everything is fine now.

Sweet! I’d still replace all the rubber parts on the cam chain tensioner and slider….

Seems to be a NOS bike, Georg!

Very good condition of all parts too. How many bikes have not rusted inside when parked for 20-25 years? And then see how aluminium can degrade.
That bike must have been stored in a good place too.

Maybe it will corrode less when engine has nut ran much. I have read about old used oil and acidity.
It must have been started at the Honda factory.

Interesting to know all build details.
Did Honda apply Hondabond sealer on the towers for crankshaft bolts in cases? Very close to the bearing shells.

My '83 CB1100F is getting it's first love from me. I've had it for 8 years now too.  ::)  ???. I don't ride it. 13,000 miles. Nice bike. Installed a new battery last week. First since 2017. Removed the front wheel. Took it and the new Revzilla Shinko to CycleGear for mount and balance. Half price ~ $30 since Revzilla and CycleGear are sister companies. The rear Bridgestone Battlax tire is cracking on the sidewalls but amazingly holds air. I noticed it has had one other set of wheel weights so this tire could well be only it's second. I ordered a pair of wheel lifts after all these years too. Hoping they arrive for the rear removal. I also ordered a 15L ultrasonic cleaner for it's carbs which need a good cleaning. Another first haha. I've been practicing with my 750 round tops.

Yesterday I drove up to Denver (Littleton) 1 hour and picked up a new Delkevic stock style chrome replacement exhaust for my '79 CBX from their US distributor. It's another garage queen with only 3300 miles. One small rust hole near the end of each muffler underneath. No need to install at this point. I wanted to get one while still available. $250 off retail on sale and skipped the $120 shipping charge. Looks like a perfect replica just without Honda markings.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

With the quality of the CBX exhausts Delkevic makes, it sure would be nice if they would also make "original" 750 exhausts. From looking at my packing list it appears they have sold 2860 sets for the 79 - 80 CBX. Quite a few more 750's out there.

Thanks Steve. I picked up the BMW K1200GT as a replacement for my totaled Fat Boy on a Saturday after not having ridden in maybe 4 years after the fiasco on the Dragon, rode it 400 miles home, sat down at the computer on E-Bay and the CBX popped up. 3300 miles. 9.5/10. Figured WTF, negotiated a few minutes and pulled the trigger. Always wanted one to go with my F and it was low miles. Happy, until the next day, Sunday. E-Bay again. Always wanted a CB1100F too. Damned if this one didn't pop up. Made an offer and bingo, 3 new to me bikes in 2 days. Happier and broker  ;) but I look at these 2 as investments and eye candy. Amazing thing is one was in San Francisco and the other in Ft Lauderdale and they showed up on the same truck through the Denver terminal.

Picked up the mounted front tire from Cycle Gear I purchased from Revzilla. Half price mount and balance. However... "unable to balance"?? WTF! Someone there needed to remove the axle and didn't have "the special tool to remove that part". Did I say WTF! I took my Clymer's and showed them the diagram. "that part" turned out to be the axle nut. Really! Another WTF. I explained this. The counter guy got a pair of Crescent wrenches but with the tapering jaws he couldn't get one on the other end. OK, no real wrenches? I suggested they cut the bill in half, $15 for mounting, and I would take it to the Honda shop a few blocks away. Honda charges $13 for a balance. Went to the service department, 5 minutes later it was done at no charge. No mention of "that part" axle nut.  ::)

Next up is the rear tire. I ordered a pair of lifts/jacks so I will resume next week. Carb cleaning next.

I know nothing about the DOHC's haha. Guess it's time to learn a little.

Today we rearranged a bunch of stuff so we could put the 74' CB 550 K0 on the lift table. We got the old pistons off before we quit for the day. I've already had the machine work done for the new 1mm over pistons. Now I have to clean up the head, freshly bored cylinders and new pistons and get them ready for installation.
The next steps will have to wait a bit until I recover from my infusion next week.

Took the Sunrise Orange CB550 that starred in my last book out on its maiden voyage.
Nice ride, sweet bike! All OEM parts inside, too.

Does that make it a brand-new Honda CB550K1?

Spent an hour checking over and cleaning up my 1971 cb750K1. Nice ride planned for tomorrow; heading north to meet up with “LAIDS” on his freshly restored, identical bike! We’ve traded lots of advice and emails, but never actually met. Photos on Friday!
