OHHHHH MANNNNNN!!!! :o   When I go to car shows and see something like that, I could look for hours!

I had a buddy who has built a few cars and trucks. One he built was a 40' Chev, tat was Awesome! And a truck he built, was a 48' Chevy Pkup, that he put on a Corvette chassis (I don't remember the Vette's Year model) and THAT ONE was something to see! The last one I saw, was a 28' Ford, that was built with a hint of Dirt Tracker heritage. A Lady and her Husband, who I met through Brenda's working with the school, have a 70' Mach I Mustang and an old Chevy 2 dr sedan. When I go to a car show or a museum with cars or bikes, I lose complete track of time.

I have a whatever car. It's a 1964 Chrysler 300 drop top. It has a 383 four barrel carb, 727 trans and a factory floor shift. It's not a "show car" but a nice driver.

64' 300? Ain't nothing wrong with that! EXCEPT we don't have any pictures. ;)

Back in 1967, I ALMOST had myself a gloss black 1955 Chrysler Imperial 2dhtp with the Hemi engine! It was while I was stationed at Charleston AFB, SC and was working part time at a used car lot. I went for the money and another one of the salesmen there, sold it right out from under me. Me AND the Boss could have kicked his BUTT! That car wasn't in bad shape at all.It was a decent driver. Kinda Big, but a decent driver all the same!

Picture this car in black (as I couldn't seem to find a 55' in Black)

I also have a 1986 s10 355 vortec motor 200 4r trans
with a full size 1/2 ton truck rearend stuffed under it.
It's a good grocery getter. By the way the 300 is a "sport" not a letter car.

Be looking forward to those pictures too! 8)

I'm sure that what ever vehicles are posted, will be appreciated. ;)

I guess you are going to have to clue me in, because I thought that ALL of the Chrysler 300s were latter cars, except the 55, because it was the first.  Clarify please. :)

On the Barrett Jackson Auctions, they just Sold A 64' Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt that someone built and It was AWESOME! I'd forgot about those.

Then, shortly after that they had a 70' Superbird and, of course, it hit  100K, real quick (last I saw, it was at 125K and then they went to break. ::)

I built a 40 chevy coupe, 350, 4 speed, 9" ford rear on a coil over shock 4 link with mustang 2 front end and nova disc brakes. Black cherry with flames. Still own my 69 firebird I got in 70 and this

We mostly run the 8.90 class but wide open it went 7.57 at 180mph with my heavy ass in it. My daughter is a hundred lbs lighter and a tenth quicker. It has a Chevy style 567" Steve Schmidt engine at 965 hp. (no real chevy parts in there)

The 300 sport started in 1962. The sport has more trim then the letter series. The base motor was a 383 but you could get the 413 in a sport also. Here is a link with some good info for those who are interested.

thats WHY it runs so good, no chevy parts :D  i'm not serious of course, i like anything thats fast. dont exactly know why but after the last 2 big block ford blocks were sold this afternoon, i feel like a part of my heart has been cut out. the 406 was already bored and honed and line bored, had new cam bearings too. almost like i've decided i'll never do another LOL

i LOVE the tri-5 chevies. my shop teacher in high school had a 56 with a nailhead buick in it. he built it as a teen in highschool, in the early 60's. too bad theres so few of those left, i'd love a 57 150 sedan.

You know, to each his (or her) own, but what I especially like about cars like the GTX and older cars (and trucks), is that they were so simple! Nothing complicated about them.  Now my GTX doesn't get good gas mileage, but there is not a bunch of hoses, sensors, no computer, It's just plain and simple! The P.O. DID convert over to the electronic ignition and the later model alternator with the solid state sealed regulator, but that's it! The most complicated thing about it, is the Holley 4 barrel carb (well, it IS more complicated than the Carter AFB or AVS). I mean, you pop the hood and right off, you are looking right at the engine (it's not covered up with a bunch of hoses, wires and such).

I've not saying a thing abouit those who have the cars with all of the stuff under the hood either, as a matter of fact I've got the 85' Shelby Charger AND the 06' Grand Caravan and they are loaded with all of that stuff.

All my 40 chevy and firebird pics are on paper, I'll have to get the kids to scan them for me. The cars are in storage, the bird is waiting it's turn for a restoration in my car trailer, the coupe is in the garage of the owner of the 68 chevelle I'm working on.
