K8 effng rear brake lever return spring!!!! help please!
« on: March 15, 2006, 12:48:33 PM »
OK, I"m a nubee but i searched forever and couldn't find this anywhere so I hope someone could kindly help me out. :) Or, point me to the post where this question was answered!

I'm trying to reassemble the rear foot brake lever and the spring that returns the foot lever to the "off" position.  I can't figure out how to assemble the GD spring that slides over the pivot arm that slides through the frame.  The bike in question is a '78 750K.  It seems like this spring is impossible to install to make it function like it is suppossed to!!!  The pictures in the manual don't seem to correspond to what I'm looking at!

I'm going to have a coronary if I can't figure this out!!!

K8 people please help!!!

Thanks for the pic!!!  This site is unbelievably good!!

It appears that the arm at the end of the shaft in your pic points upwards, correct???  And your bike is a K8 too, so I guess mine has to reassemble the same way...correct???  Just want to confirm.

I thought it went down, when I tried it up it seemed to bump into the frame when the foot lever is depressed.  I guess me needs to tinker some more.

thanks a billion!!!
