Topic: Next book? Comments, please...

I'm getting lots of e-mail (and even phone calls!) about "my next book". I didn't know there was one, but maybe there can be?

I am considering a couple of possibilities:

1. A smaller (shorter) book of the CB750F and K7/K8 differences (which aren't much!). It would have to be purchased as a supplement to the original one.

2. A 500/550 book. I'd like to include the 400F/350F in one like this if I did it, because they are all the same design with minor changes: they were all clones of the 500 engine.

I'll also need some bikes to rebuild, so I can get the pictures. First, though, I have to finish these three 750s out back and sell them, so I can have some room!

ill even donate a 550 project. i have a 550 engine apart and cleaned waiting to be reassembled and enough parts to make a complete bike.

Mark, I just received your book and I congratulate you - it must have been a huge effort. I vote for a supplement to cover the "F" series and the late "Ks". I feel that the differences in the late "Fs" are significant enough to warrant a chapter or two. Pat

I'd vote for the F - k7/k8 supplement, might not be much to cover but a subject that is in dire need of clarification by a professional, there is not much out here that is definitive. Oh and I happen to have a '77F that I'd be willing to offer up to science.

I've worked on lots of the '76 "F" bikes, but they are really just the K6 with hemi heads and domed pistons, and a disc rear brake. The '77  and ''78 "F" had the more different hardware, like the carbs and cosmetics. And 630 chain. The '76 started with the 530 chain, then it became to 630 along the way, when the K7 first showed up before the "F2" came out.

I vote for #1.  It is tough to find accurate info on these later bikes.

I vote for the "smaller fours" book.  It would be more work, but I bet you'll sell a lot more (not that you're trying to get rich here).  But, even if you never write a book on smaller fours, I'll probably buy one of your 750 books in the future.  Lots of great info!

I'm half way threw your first book and plan on reading it over and over until the pages fall out then I'll buy another one and do the same.  I do however long for more info on the K7-K8 and would purchase anything you wrote about it.

how about this mark....

1.) write the book about the 77-78k and 750f's
then after that book to keep people on the edge of their seat...

2.) write a book about the 350-550 bikes..

3.) write a supliment to the 350-550 book all about the 650!

that should keep the money flowing and you busy for a while!
