So Here is a few picts of the making of a 1" front axle with Kawi ends to fit an inverted fork....  a cb550,with a ZX1 fork, and a harley front wheel hahahaha if that was said anywhere but here people would be like WTF WHY hahaha

We used a donor Kawi axle and cut the end off, it was bored out to 1" to accept a piece of 1018 cold rolled steel, it was then tacked on and moved to the lathe for facing to correct lenth, and the end turned down to accept threads, The threaded end cap was also bored down to the threads to slide over the 1" stock as it threads on to the axle, once it was cut to lenth it was moved to the welding bench and fully welded

here is where the magic happens HAHAHAHA

in the lathe

fully welded

next to a stock axle for comparison and ready for some threads

Hopefully the die will come in Tuesday and it will be done

Thanks for the smitywicks Joe

#1 Rippy finished a front axle
#2 Hotrodmetal has finished a seat cowl

This is going to be one hell of a summer.

Stevo I saw your kitchen project. nice. I am widening some door openings and adding arches as well as renovating the kitchen and bathroom. I have Rippy on speed dial for those questions like "Was that a load bearing wall I just removed?"

Killer build man! Just looked at your webstore as well. Doubt you would take on orders for side covers for something other then an SOHC right?

OK, so I got my new seat pan from Hot Rod Metal. (thanks dude) It is 1/16" aluminummmmmmum. I was originall planning on upholstering it but think for now I want it all just bare nekkid-ness.

The pictures are showing how I am making a "bump" for the seat to sit over my suspension bracket. I just used a ball peen hammer and a piece of MDF, then clamped and hammered.

No. It is a bump that goes over the top of the top of the monoshock mount. Just an illusion in the photo.
