Okay, I've got ask about that Koso gauge set. It looks slick. I just have not been happy with the gauges that I put on my bike. How hard was it to install?

Just posted my new project a 750K8 and thought I was seeing double when I saw your seat and tank! I got the same seat and am using the stock bulbous tank, I am actually starting to like the curves of it, after purchasing a SS tank and a K1 tank I settled on stock. I am curious as to wether you had the same problem that I am having with the seat, It's flimsy as a wind up balsa airplane! Took me 20 hours to come up with an elegent solution to mounting, I should have just ordered classic cycle city seat, Stellar! anyhow I would be interested in how you figured yours out? keep up the good work

I like your left side cover. I built a seat mount out of plywood(not finalized yet/it's sort of trianguler shaped and fits undet the seat portion only). The Koso guage was super simple to mount & wire.

Longer shocks are mounted, bike sits level now.

Front fender is mounted, still need to play around with the brake hoses(too close to tire)

Going to miss my deadline (my 40th on saturday) but that's okay it will be done soon.
Body work on the fuel tank is almost done, side covers showed up and are ready for paint as well.
Still dragging my feet on building my battery box.

Looking good.  Too bad it won't be ready by your 40th but it will be worth the wait.

Enjoy turning the Big 4--0...

Electrics are mostly mounted, welded up a new battery box for my gel battery, riveted on an aluminium plate to the side to mount up everything else.

I hooked up my VR730 regulator as per Pinhead's directions but my "magic smoke" appeared shortly after turning on the key. I'll hook up the next one as per how they are labeled on the regulator itself.

This pic has the red wire disconnected.

I just got one myself. I was never really happy with the way my gauges came out on my project. The gauges themselves came out nice, but they really don't match and the dash plate is just a disappointment. We'll see what the KOSO looks like on. Looks good on your bike anyway. I imagined it would be a bit bigger, though...

Looking Great! Keep up the good work!  If you don't mind...what longer shocks did you buy?  I want to do the same...get a little more seat/tire clearance.
Cheers!

I ordered them for a CB1100f from Northern Eagle Cycle (in Mitchell, Ontario). They do have another website but I cannot remember it(it's a common one/Mikes XS is a partner company??)
I think someone mentioned the longer shocks in your thread I think.

It just came to me  :)

Wired up my new $9.00 VR730 regulator as per how it is labeled on the regulator and no "magic smoke" and it is charging properly.
Small issue with the brakes, one caliper has stripped threads for the bleeder screw (helicoil time)

what size tire are you running on the rear?

Not sure I would trust a helicoil on the brakes though.

130/90-17 Bridgestone Spitfire
I did end up buying a bleeder screw repair kit(comes with new seat & bleeder screw) instead of going with the helicoil repair.

Modified my Mac exhaust so it angles upward a bit and will drill out the baffle for a little more rumble.
Body work is being done (fill, sand, prime & repeat) and hope to be done by next weekend.
Weather is beautiful today and bike is begging to be ridden.

All that is left is some black pinstripes to separate the orange & silver and then clearcoat, a seat pad & license plate bracket.

Excellent looking build!  Have you seen Frankenstuff's clear points covers?  Putting an orange or gold metallic one on your bike might give it another killer detail!  Love the orange frame!  I'm thinking of painting my frame orange as well (I Love Orange) to match my engine.

cant wait to see it all buttoned up. I really like all the personal touches. Its kind of boring when people just order parts and put them on and thats that.

A quick mock-up before clearcoat (i need to let the paint cure for awhile to be safe)
Too cold to ride now anyway so I can take my time. Still need to get my title sorted out and no point getting insurance now. Just have to get it home from the shop.

If nothing else, Uhaul has a utility trailer for $15 to rent.  They have a bike trailer for $55, but that's just silly.  It's the same trailer, but with a ramp and a wheel chock.  Hardly worth the extra $40.

Lookin' good, man.

I'm out of hibernation, time to get this bike finished for spring.

Clearcoated the bodywork, wetsand, rubbing compound then polish.

Turned out pretty good for a rattlecan job, only problem is the edge of the black pinstripe is not as sharp as I would like.

Tailight is from a Honda XR(I like the look of it and it is really bright), haven't decided whether or not to add the jewel underneath the emblem (orange ones would match)

Replaced the missing brass tube on my petcock, this one was riveted together but is rebuildable now (I replaced the rubber washer with 4 holes)
Wired in relays for the headight, new headlight with replaceable bulb is on its way as well as a new 6 place fuse block.
Seat should be available soon,in prototype stage I've been told.
