Mine seems to be broken.
I hit the button, the opener looks out the window, waves, and then goes away. 
I hit the button again, now I get a look and a frown.
I hit the button a third time, I get a frown and a glare.
So, obviously I turn around and go on another ride.

Also known as the "car hole".  Or in our case, the motorcycle hole.
