74 seat on a 78

anyone know if i can move the hardware on a 74k seat to fit a 78k? found a smokin good deal on a minty one...
73 750k, 78 750k, 69 c10, 87 r1500 (c10), 94 fzr1000

Latches are on oposite sides, so it wont be a bolt on affair.

You might have to take the seat cover off, and you may have to reinforce the areas you're bolting the hinges and latch to ( maybe ) but if you're willing to do work on it... shouldn't be too tough.

Another option would be to offer it in trade for a seat that was made for your bike.

Damm thats what I thought... well homemade two up seat for now... till I build the cafe tail  ;D

I just fitted a k6 cafe seat to my 78 k7, obviously the catches are on different sides so not a straight bolt on. but knock up some rubber mounts on the frame and seat, then bolted the k7 hinges and latch to the k6 seat. Strong enough for now but eventially will need to strip the seat and strengthen it up.

but bottom line can be done with a bit of effort..

Hmm worth 40bucks to try out you think?
