While I appreciate the universal guidance (though I'm a Guinness man) I'm not mad or even bothered at all. I just haven't figured out all the punctuation facial expressions. :O It's just messed up, that somebody can be so blindly ignorant toward something that's created to support a particular idea, i.e., SOHC, this thread, or even basic communication. I also find it amusing to call those high school antics out for what they are.

It's relative.  Some of us have been around since years before this version of the sohc4 message board started in '05.  Some are original members of the email list from the 90's.  So someone who's been on this forum for a year is still a "new guy" to some members.  Doesn't mean it's a bad thing, just a relative fact. 

To some it's also a factor of the number of posts.  Even if you've been around for a few years, you're still "new" to more active members if you don't post much because we don't know much, if anything about you.  Again, not a bad thing, just is what it is.

The title under your forum name changes as you accumulate posts.  I don't think too many people take it seriously because it has nothing to do with the quality or subject matter of the posts, just the quantity.

You can say that again! Most of Spanner's posts were just like his here. He is a judgmental self righteous ass. Certainly not as much of a contributor to the forum as he would like t think. He has answered a couple of questions here or there, I am sure. Bet he was a jerk about it though. So sick of people like him on the forum. Ruins it for the rest of us. Has anyone noticed tat the forum has been steadily declining in activity and active members? Wonder why... Spanner1 REALLY is an #$%*.

If I see a profanity laden post describing an angry outburst and an episode of screaming profanities at females ( as described by the OP ) I can call it 'squid' behaviour... which it is IMO and in-excuseable.
The right thing to do is call the cops with a description of the car and it's tag and direction of travel....
it just makes the whole story pointless and an angry outburst because the poster did nothing to stop the driver from endangering other road users... but then 'he' was O.K., wasn't he.
Nothing more from me on this.... go ahead, get your jollies all you want.

u should have punctured her tires and called the cops with her plates and vehicle description.

admittedly I have driven drunk before. but I'm certainly not proud of it, and I haven't done it since.

I do however go out with friends, have a drink or two (usually a beer) and then drive home after a reasonable amount of time.
By reasonable amount of time I mean around 1 hour per drink + 1 non alcoholic drink per beer.
I don't let other people pressure me into drinking more even if I'm NOT driving. It's one thing if you're at home being stupid but out in public it's just inappropriate and can get you in trouble.
But let's put it this way; if I ever got pulled over, I'd not only pass the field sobriety test, I would also pass the breathalyzer with no problem. In VA if you're a .08 you go to jail, and the 0 tolerance limit (under 21) is .00.

I will never drink within 6 hours of riding a motorcycle though. There's too many stupid people of whom I must be ever vigilant.

According to my dad's letters to home, when he was in the Navy in WW2, a squid was a novice sailor that hadn't yet crossed the equator. And just when did cafe become a bad word? The same time as checkered paint jobs appeared???

Well, like many words in our great language and its permutations around the world, it has multiple meanings.  As far as I know, Navy still uses it as always - but it has a meaning for bikes as well.

Generally reserved for idiot crotchrocketeers, I've seen it applied to just "novice" bikers as well...but, for the former, I've heard it used for either what they look like after they hit the pavement as well as:
