Clip on handlebars wiring?
« on: August 30, 2010, 09:17:12 PM »
What is the best way to get old wiring out, and how did you run your wires after clip on's  were installed. Has anyone cut the bars in half the long way insted of pulling wires apart. Would like to not run wires threw clip on's. Thanks for any information and tips.

My wires just pulled out out of the bars. You have to kinda push on one side and pull on the other. With the clipons you can just zip tie them to your bars.

Thanks I was hoping that I did not have to disconnect and pull the wires out. I thought it might be as fast to use cut off wheel to cut bars in half the long way because of old wires.

Then you might hit your wires and then your going to have to rewire. Do it right and save yourself the trouble.

If the connectors are that worn/brittle looking, then you should probably replace them anyways...

Pulled wires tonight it was not as hard as I thought it was going to be. Swap out clutch side Assembly  because of broken parts in Assembly. Thanks for the advice to just pull wires.
