What do you drink?
« on: September 05, 2010, 02:02:44 AM »
What do you guys drink for alcoholic beverages?

I drink Jameson, whiskey cokes and shots of it mostly.  I don't really  like beer but if I do drink it, its the Grain Belt (gotta suppot the local brewery)

I like rum, vodka, gin and tequila, sometimes all in one glass! [Iced Tea].
Also drink a lot of beer on the boat as it is "easy".
Oh, and wine w/dinner, the wifey says it's healthy! OK!!

Red wine mostly (well it counts as one of your five a day doesn't it?) but also beer - Nastro Azzuro or Moretti at home, Guiness or proper British real ale when out. I collect single malt Scotch whiskey but am also partial to a bit of Old No.7 JD from kentucky and Wild Turkey too, Vodka if that's run out, has to be Stolichnaya - anything really other than champagne or gin >hic!<  ;D

I can't do taquila after I went to Mexico when I was 18.  I was hugging the toilet for a long time.

Though for $hits and giggles I did have a prairie fire (tequila + tobasco) the other night.  I almost died.

And if the wife says its healthy, who are you to say otherwise? :P

Beer: most any "bottle conditioned" brew.   Twist-off/can=wasted $$$   Lots of homebrew when there's time to make it!

Scotch: Aberlour Single malt or Famous Grouse blend... No ice in my singe malt please  ;)

Bourbon: Woodford Reserve, Bookers, or a couple other small batch distillers

It's a good thing its early... This trea could cause a man to get thirsty..

A friend recently recommended Sailor Jerry's Spiced Rum.  I was pleasantly surprised. It's very good straight up or mixed with Coke.

As far as beer it's usually Pilsner Urquell or some English Ale.

Several of the Wheat based Bourbons. If all that is available is Black Jack, I mix it with Coke.

Yes I have.

If you like rum you should like it.  It's not as heavily spiced at Captain Morgans.
And it's 92! proof.

Bourbon on the rocks - Booker's preferably ~130+/- proof ~ $60 a bottle but it's GOOD
won't mix any more     Maker's 46 - it's new and it's probably the smoothest whiskey I've ever tasted!
                                    Maker's Mark
Lot of other good whiskey out there!

Tequila shots                Patron any color
           Margaritas         Cheap Tequila

Rum and Coke             Cruzan Dark inexpensive and flavorful

Gin and Tonic               New Amsterdam new with very good taste and relatively cheap!

Beer                            Cold, Free or Your's - NO LIGHT, I can get cold water from my refrigerator door

Foo Foo Drinks            Not even! I'm married too long and I don't need to impress women

I drink a lot of cheap beer, Primarily keystone. The only big brewery beers i drink are Coors products. I can't stand Bud light, Miller lite, etc.  One of my favorite good beers is Red Hook.

A close second to beer is whiskey. I loved Woodford reserve when i had it. Crown Royal most of the time, and Windsor Canadian if i'm broke or just having a party.

I don't really drink rum, Vodka makes me puke, and i'll have a few shots of Tequila if the mood is right.

i might "do an earl"and cross keystone of my list, ive been making micro brewery beer now for about two years,no preservatives or heading agents etc, they have 150 types like black beer ginger beer etc,it dosent keep warm though it has to be chilled so the minimum you can make is 50 litres,i can it there into 500ml cans ,usually end up with 102 cans.

Jerry, check out Buffalo Trace.

+1, good stuff that Buffalo Chip, Bobby! Also, Makers, Blantons, Bundaberg Rum, (good for rust removal too, I bet....) and Chivas. beer-wise, I like Pure Blonde and Corona. (only because my son keeps leaving it in my garage beer fridge and I keep drinking it........) ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

yeah Jerry. i can get it locally, but at 2x the price i can get it for in MX.  :o
we head to cabo each spring.
dont buy tequila in the 'tourist' shops.  robbery!
they have a new WALMARTO in cabo, with a GREAT liquor section.  ;) usually 1 or 2 tequila vendors there with scantilly clad spokeswomen, handing out samples.  8)
its my first stop before another hour of shopping for the weeks supplies.
4 different bottles come home with me every year, but yeah...the toro is tops.

Has anyone tried a shot called a prairie fire?

All it is is a shot of tequila and a few drops of tobasco in it.  A friend bought be one this weekend.  I should have known it was bad when he only brought one back for me.  Good thing I was already dizzy and couldn't taste much or I would have been in a world of hurt.  (PS. Took a cab home that night, incase you were worried.)

Prarie fire...OH yess...last time I got ambushed by those...friends lined up a bunch of shots on the table in front of me on a past B-day... as I knocked them down...BAM...one prarie fire....a couple tasty ones then BAM..the last one was a fire....  I pooped flames the next morning.  Seriously...just as spicy coming out!  :D

I'm a beer lover....not too many that I don't enjoy.   I like going to the liquor store and buying a bunch of random beers from around the world for a treat.

Fave.... Guinness, then Alexander Keiths India Pale ale,  CANADIAN...and James Ready.
