New Cycle X exhausts
« on: November 29, 2010, 11:37:14 AM »
Does anyone know about the new exhausts they're advertising on the Cycle X Website?  It looks likes a few new versions of a 4-1. I would be interested if they were cheaper than Carpy's and sounded better than their 4-2-1.

I'm really tired of my rusted mac 4-2 (with turnouts!) and Christmas bonus time is just around the corner.

I think their 4 into 1 Drag Pipes look sexy!  It will be interesting to see what the price is when they are offered.

Here is an example of just 1 of our many anticipated exhausts:

The finish product should look similar to this...

I think everyone would dig some sound clips when they're available. It's always cool to see/hear new products offered for our 40-year-old bikes.

Hey CycleX ,probably not but are you having any front fender clearance issue with that pipe ? Picture looks pretty tight. Lots of old 750's got the back fender dent from their aftermarket  pipes. Good way to tell if the front end ever got smacked real hard  :)

Good point and good eyes .......... noticing the fender clearance.
That particular sidewinder is for our drag bike with some rake in the frame.
We have another sidewinder with #2 pipe modified for fender clearance........... still keeping equal length.

4 pipe system ?
Funny you bring that up.
We have a huge order of stainless tubing on the way for a 4 pipe system with stainless mega phones.
Of coarse, you are going to ask for photo's ............... might have to wait a bit for photo,s
Although, the 4 pipe system will easier than the sidewinder ......... it still takes time

I have the 4 into 2 into 1 system and I really like it.  I cut about 6" off the muffler that came with it (and re-welded the baffle) and I couldn't be happier.

HMMM-Be sure to update us sometime on the 4 piper--Depending on the price point I think you could sell some of those systems.  Eric

I would suspect the pricing would be up a bit.
Stainless tubing, stainless megaphones and everything multiplied by 4.
Cant guarantee the price would be dirt cheap.......... but we can guarantee they look and sound killer ( so to speak )

Those pipes look great. Was wondering if you make exhaust for the 750's little step brother, the 550k?

This is my favourite 4-4 exhaust system... hand modified by some badass biker dude with a deathwish...  :D
If there was a slick, blacked out,  tuned n' welded system like this out there...I'd buy 3 sets... one for the bike...and two for barstools!!  oooohyeah

I love what you guys do over at Cycle-X!  I'm a true fan.... Cheers!
Can't wait to see what you guys do next.

Thanks SKTP! And Tipper!! Means a lot to me.
Yes, they are baffled (I whipped up some home-made jobbies...more details in my build)
It's got a good throaty sound and will let you know it's coming...but isn't too loud at all.
(they are removable...and I'll take a video next summer of the sound 'sans baffle' for fun)

**!!No intentions of any thread hijacking here!!**

just a video plug for SKTP..you can hear it "somewhat" here  (#$%*ty point n' shoot camera video)

Again! Cycle X rocks...and I'll def. be putting one of their exhausts on my next bike for sure!!
(always wanted the 4-4 drag pipes with the baffles they sell... but checked as many times as I did...over the year it took me to build the bike...they were always sold out of the ones that fit later models.....;)....I guess they were popular)   But looking VERY Forward to seeing what they do with the new 4x4's!

Cheers!

Just got confirmation from Jake at CycleX - they ARE going to start making a set of 4 into 4 pipes for the 750.

Don't know when to expect them - but, they are coming !

soo.... Any videos of the sidewinder exhaust with the reverse megaphone? ;D ;D  It says it's the meanest sounding ever  8) which is what I would like.  I like the look of it better than carpy's 4-1 but I'm hesitant on buying before I hear it you know?

Thanks!

Four pipe system with stainless megaphones ! I've been drooling over Benjies set up for a while, but I just cant come up with 1200 bucks. Although I'm sure its worth it. Very curious to the price on this set up. Love Cycle X, parts are great, Kens tech help is awesome.

+1 Very interested in a 4-4 setup...seeing that my multiple attempts at making my own that would be easily reproduce able for people on the forum is still failing miserably lol.
