It wondered in my mind how the Britten motorcycle museum has suffered. It is located in Christchurch. Have very great respect for what John Britten has done during his too short lifespan.

the roads are pretty buggered, the whole of the CBD is still locked down, might be out for a few months, not that theres much left. I know of a stash of 70's Honda parts that the demo crews should be carefull around.

damn aftershocks, banged my toe on the door running outside when I heard the last one coming, sounded like a train coming up the road.

to stay sane, going away for the weekend on the bike. not riding it around here with the roads all buggered and the choking dust.
Life for the lucky goes on, the chances of anyone else being pulled out of the rubble is slim. enjoy life while you have it people.

About 30% of Christchurch still has no power and also he probably has more important things on right now down there.

Sheet!!! I just found out my older brother Jeff was in central Christchurch when the big one struck.
He was in a shop that collapsed, he said there are many dead people under the bricks in Sydenham which is an area we don't seem to hear much about on the news so maybe there is a reason the authorities are keeping it quiet.
I'm glad he's safe, when the quake struck I was just thanking luck that none of my family live down there, huh little did I know eh!

I read that large parts of Christchurch may have to be abandoned. The quake has damaged the ground so much that it is unstable and unsuitable for building on. (soil liquefaction)

rumour has it that a 1/3 of buildings in the central business area are destroyed and about 10,000 homes will have to be pulled down. some suburbs wont be rebuilt on. the dust from the liquification is terrible.
