You going to the flat track races south of you this weekend? Oklahoma Tim will be out there Saturday and Sunday. He was supposed to send me the schedule for it.

I can't make it this weekend.  This weather has pushed back too many projects

I too still like motorcycles and the riding thereof. In fact I have become more focused on the latter rather than the former.

I've been focusing my time and efforts in autocross and hopefully some rallycross.

Very cool. Are there local venues for amateur rallycross?

Clinton Arkansas and Topeka. I'm hoping there will be some closer, but figure it would be fun enough to make it worth the trip.

Currently running my Elantra Gt for autocross. The first event I was supposed to go to got flooded out last weekend. I'm prepping a car for next season though.

As for rallycross I planned to find a cheap Ford Ranger or some smaller pickup. I figure it could double as a parts hauler and still be something to go have fun in the dirt with. I doubt it would be very competitive, but it would be better than beating up the daily driver.

Honestly I can't get excited about the autocross but the rallycross is #$%*in. Let's face it, if death isn't a possibility what's the point.

If I get the ball rolling on it you are more than welcome to join. I don't think there is another event for a month or two.

I finally remembered I still like motorcycles and started working on mine again.

I'm planning a helicopter fly in hunt in a few weeks though, so I need to spend more time practicing with my bow instead of working on the bike.

Your life reads like a book or could be turned into a movie. Helicopter hunting? Some straight up Rambo #$%* right there.

Guy that runs the track said they have over 100 racers signed up in 16 different classes.

I won't be hunting from the helicopter, just flying to the place I'm hunting. It would be pretty hard to shoot a longbow out of a helicopter. I'm not saying it doesn't sound like fun though.

I'm up for motorcycle riding sometime.  I have a 1990 Ford Probe dirt circle race car.  I brought it back from the farm.  It has a full cage, race seat, no glass and stuff.  been planning to get rid of it.  I'd like to see how it fits into the rules of the rallycross.  Could somebody point me to some rules?  I have seen FWD cars do well in autocross also, when setup properly.

Just a quick glance tells me they allow all wheel drive conversion of FWD cars.  The Probe is built on a Mazda platform.  A 4x4 drive train would bolt in.  A turbo/AWD Probe could be a beast, I think very competitive.

Maybe. I think AWD is dominated by Subarus.

Dang guys, been forever since I made a post on here. I thought I txtd you a schedule for the races Captain. Don't worry you didn't miss anything. They ruined the track by putting too much water on it Saturday night and ended up canceled the race and then almost everyone bailed for the Sunday race. It was actually the opposite on Sunday, dry, slick and very dusty but we did race.

Yeah I ended up getting the schedule you sent after I posted that. Sucks about the racing. Was this their first flat track event?
