I remember having reservations about mounting the tire to the rim, but it came out fine. I think you should be good to go.

If you are getting the same tires that I had, I believe they went on rather easily. BG Uno gave me a hand with both, and I don't remember running into any issues other than pinching a tube on one with the tire irons.

Dennis Kirk is the best for most of that stuff. You still have to pay a $5 charge per tire shipping, but not bad considering. I'm about to make a similar order myself, just putting the beans in a jar to do so.

Order complete. I decided to add in some combination pry bar/sockets. I should be be all set save for a few fasteners and borrowing a chain breaker from a buddy.

I see I am too late. my vote is that it wont fit (well). what is the width b/w the lower fork tubes. I do like that look though. I do have issues with pinching wide tires onto narrow rims. Just seems like it screws up the profile. I am watching in earnest.

I got trigger happy with the order. I have pulled up those tires on Dennis Kirk's site so many times, it was gonna happen at some point. I'll measure the gap between the fork lowers when I get home. Everything I've read says it's a bad idea to put a tire that wide on a rim that narrow, but I think form over function won me over here. If it doesn't fit, I'll use the new 3.50 Duro rear tire that came with the bike up front. It may handle like a greased pig, but we'll see...

*edit - I can always use one on the rear on my 750.

I agree with you on the form over function, but I actually bit the bullet on one bike and purchased the exact stock sizes. It handles so nicely that I dont worry so much about the wide tire deal any more. The rim has a lot to do with how wide the tire will be anyway. that rim will pinch the tire up and make it taller and narrower. youll probably be fine with the slow riding we do. If you do go down derrick knows cpr. he keeps trying to show me.

I don't need to know about your measuring stick. I youtubed some how-tos on tire mounting tips and tricks. I know just enough to be dangerous now

I have mounted many a tire in my garage, if you know what I mean..... Its not that hard. Its a drive but if you happen to be up here on a weekend I can help/show/ do it for you. about the only thing you can do really wrong is pinch the tube and when you find out you did it, you usually have the tire mounted up. very dissapointing. not as bad as putting a motor in your bike with a broken spark plug in it but still aggravating.

It's a lot easier to mount tires with a second set of hands. I'll come observe if I can still make it out Saturday. Speaking of which, we still need to decide on a place to eat and ride. I think I have a place and route chosen.

Andy, let me know if you don't end up needing that Duro tire. I'll gladly give you a few shillings for it as that's the same one I plan to get for the cl350 rear now.
