Photos of fully seated bead of BT45, please?
« on: February 05, 2017, 03:56:34 pm »
I'm unsure if my bead has seated fully on my new BT45. I don't think it has, but it could just be my small pancake compressor isn't jamming enough pressure in there fast enough. It worked fine for my previous rear Spitfire S11 and a front BT45.

That is the indicator line all the way around, same on both sides. This is the 17" aluminum rim from a 750A.

She's a mix-matched (former) basket case, but she's mine.

I believe if you can see the line all the way round on both sides it's all good

Hmmm. It just doesn't feel right. It looks too small compared to the S11. Pic for reference:

Liquid dish soap is your best friend for seating the bead. If you are unsure, deflate the tire and spread some around the bead on both sides on the rim and tire then reinflate. Often you need to go a bit over where you would have it inflated to in order for the bead to seat correctly.

RU-glyde is better than soap.

That tire looks good to me from here. I always mount my own, but take it to a shop if you are not sure.

After comparing the width of the rim to the tire in that old pic and the current one, they sidewall height and everything is the same. So we are good.

I just didn't expect it to be so easy to pop on!
