soda/sand blasting at home
« on: July 01, 2011, 03:52:01 am »
heres how i soda blast carbs,i made this from a plastic jar,the photo speaks for itself,it holds half a kilo of bi-carbsoda,it takes me one and a half kilos to do all four carbs inside and out(clean them as best you can first),the gun is a cheap one that has a few different nossles etc,,for sand blasting i use damp silica washed sand and turn the outlet upside down and use a funnel, this works better for me than the supplied steel tube about 18 inches long and the rubber hose affair that you are supposed to dump into a big pail of sand,i only sand blast small parts with it as big as fork legs.

I cleaned my nasty carbs with my Harbor Freight soda blaster. Just a few minutes on the float bowls and all the removable brass, and the outsides of the carbs .Rinse off with water, good to go.

Dave, I have a compressor that's 1 hp, 4 gallon, 125 psi max, 2.2 scfm at 90 psi and 3.5 at 40 psi.  Do you think it would work for this?

Eh? Oh that thing you're holding in your hand. Sorry, I got distracted by the great view you've got in your backyard.  :)

there wasn't growing anything at that time. maybe next summer.

I put plastic curtain to cover the ground that there could grow some vegetables.Someday.. It was pretty good idea because I  only collect those soda from ground and use again. recycling  8)
